In the cool, green little state of Vermont, tucked neatly between New York and New Hampshire like a secret note in a lunchbox, a bunch of zesty, zestful kids engage in an exhilarating activity known as sailing. They are part of the "Valiant Vermont Vikings", a name they proudly bear with their brightly colored life jackets and matching sailor caps. Leading the pack is a funky fellow named Cornelius Codfish, a character as big and bold as his name. With a jolly belly that jiggles like jam in a jar and a laugh as loud as a foghorn, Cornelius is a sight to behold. He is as quirky as a porcupine playing the piano, wearing a sailors' suit of the brightest pink, his rubber boots always on the wrong feet, and a pair of mismatched socks peeking out from the top! These adventurous kids, from six to sixteen, gather at the edge of the expansive Lake Champlain, each eager to ride the waves and dance with the wind. They zip and zoom, swerve and sweep, their tiny sailboats bobbing and bouncing on the lake's shimmering surface like a group of playful dolphins. Sailing in Vermont, for these kids, isn't just about the sport, it's about the camaraderie, the laughter, and the life lessons that come with it. So, put on your imaginary life jacket, grab your sailor cap, and join Cornelius and his gang of Valiant Vermont Vikings for an adventure of a lifetime. You are always welcome, just remember to put your boots on the wrong feet!

For over 50 years, Frontier Camp has been dedicated to making disciples of Jesus by sharing God’s Word amidst the beauty of His creation. Since our founding in 1969, we’ve been licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services and are proudly accredited by the American Camping Association. We’re also a member of the Christian Camping and Conference Association. Our mission is to use Christian camping and outdoor recreation as a means to support local churches in fulfilling the Great Commission—evangelizing people of all ages and discipling believers toward deeper maturity in Christ. Frontier Camp offers a dual ministry: during the summer, we host a 10-week youth camp, and throughout the rest of the year, we serve as a retreat facility for churches and like-minded religious organizations. Whether through summer camps or retreats, our goal remains the same: to expose people to Christ and encourage their spiritual growth through His Word and by reflecting His character in everything we do. While we provide top-notch recreation and exciting programming, the heart of our camp is the spiritual impact, rooted in the truth of God’s inerrant Word.
At MBBC Junior Sailing Program, we make sure our young sailors gain the best sailing skills possible. Our US Sailing certified instructors provide a multi-age program to ensure that we can meet the instructional and schedule needs of our junior participants. We use the US SAILING Small Boat Sailing curriculum, which teaches boat handling skills and seamanship and can accommodate sailors with entry level skills up to experienced sailors participating in our racing program. For safety reasons, swimmers must pass a test on the first day of each session and wear a Type II or Type III life preserver. If needed, MBBC has some life jackets available to borrow. We also offer financial assistance to any child with an interest in sailing and limited financial resources.
