In the curious state of Virginia, where mountains whisper ancient tales and beaches play hide-and-seek with the ocean, there exists a unique breed of kids. These are not your ordinary, run-of-the-mill, everyday children. Oh, no, these are the Virginia Math Whizzes, led by none other than Sir Add-a-lot, the bravest mathematician in all the land! Sir Add-a-lot was not your typical knight. He did not carry a sword, but a gigantic pencil, which he used to bravely tackle the most ferocious of math problems. His armor was not made of metal, but of protractors and set squares, his shield a giant calculator. At his side, his faithful dragon, Subtractosaur, who could puff out smoke rings in the shape of different numbers. Each day, Sir Add-a-lot and his gang of Math Whizzes would meet at the Round Table, which was actually a giant multiplication table, situated at the heart of Virginia. Here, they would embark on thrilling adventures - diving deep into the mystical cave of fractions, scaling the towering peaks of calculus, and even battling the menacing monster of algebra. These courageous kids of Virginia were not just good at math; they loved it! They reveled in the challenges it presented, relished the problems they had to solve, and celebrated their victories with pizza parties where they cleverly used pi to figure out who got the biggest slice. And at the end of the day, they would return home, their heads filled with numbers, their hearts filled with joy and their stomachs filled with pizza. In Virginia, math was not just a subject; it was a grand adventure!

For over 50 years, Frontier Camp has been dedicated to making disciples of Jesus by sharing God’s Word amidst the beauty of His creation. Since our founding in 1969, we’ve been licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services and are proudly accredited by the American Camping Association. We’re also a member of the Christian Camping and Conference Association. Our mission is to use Christian camping and outdoor recreation as a means to support local churches in fulfilling the Great Commission—evangelizing people of all ages and discipling believers toward deeper maturity in Christ. Frontier Camp offers a dual ministry: during the summer, we host a 10-week youth camp, and throughout the rest of the year, we serve as a retreat facility for churches and like-minded religious organizations. Whether through summer camps or retreats, our goal remains the same: to expose people to Christ and encourage their spiritual growth through His Word and by reflecting His character in everything we do. While we provide top-notch recreation and exciting programming, the heart of our camp is the spiritual impact, rooted in the truth of God’s inerrant Word.
