Deep in the heart of the enchanting state of Virginia, where the Blue Ridge Mountains kiss the sky and the Atlantic Ocean gently laps the sandy shores, a crazy bunch of kids engage in some of the most extraordinary Nature activities that even a squirrel would be jealous of. Our story begins with a magical, imaginary character named Whiskers Wigglebottom, a sly and supremely funny fox with a tail as fluffy as a cotton candy and a heart as big as the Appalachian Trail. Now, these aren't just your everyday, run-of-the-mill kids. No siree, Bob! These are the Virginia Vigilante Vegan Varmint Vanquishers, or V5 for short. These wild-hearted adventurers are as spirited and diverse as the state they call home, brimming with the energy of the roaring James River and the wisdom of the ancient Shenandoah Valley. Lead by Whiskers, the V5 partake in epic adventures. From exploring the Luray Caverns’ jaw-dropping stalactites, to venturing the Great Dismal Swamp’s mysterious trails, they laugh in the face of the ordinary. They even once had a marshmallow roasting duel with dragonflies at the False Cape State Park, believe it or not! These kids and Whiskers grow together, embracing each season and its blessings. The fiery red and orange hues of fall leaves in Skyline Drive become their backyard, the snow-capped peaks in winter their playground, the blossoming dogwoods in spring their art canvas and the sandy beaches in summer their own slice of paradise. So, strap on your boots, pack up your laughter, and join Whiskers Wigglebottom and the V5 on their hilarious escapades, as they explore, conserve, and make the most out of the beautiful nature that Virginia has to offer. Merry adventures await, as every day is a riot with these nature-loving mischief-makers!

For over 50 years, Frontier Camp has been dedicated to making disciples of Jesus by sharing God’s Word amidst the beauty of His creation. Since our founding in 1969, we’ve been licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services and are proudly accredited by the American Camping Association. We’re also a member of the Christian Camping and Conference Association. Our mission is to use Christian camping and outdoor recreation as a means to support local churches in fulfilling the Great Commission—evangelizing people of all ages and discipling believers toward deeper maturity in Christ. Frontier Camp offers a dual ministry: during the summer, we host a 10-week youth camp, and throughout the rest of the year, we serve as a retreat facility for churches and like-minded religious organizations. Whether through summer camps or retreats, our goal remains the same: to expose people to Christ and encourage their spiritual growth through His Word and by reflecting His character in everything we do. While we provide top-notch recreation and exciting programming, the heart of our camp is the spiritual impact, rooted in the truth of God’s inerrant Word.
