Meet Oklahoma, home of the shiniest sunsets, the tallest stalks of corn, and, of course, the best darn archery in the whole United States. It's shaped like a funky pan, so you know it's cooking up some really fun adventures. Now, don't let the tumbleweeds fool you, because beneath these vast, sunny skies, a band of plucky young archers is stirring up a storm. Leading the charge is our hero, Bullseye Billy, a ten-year-old whiz with a bow and arrow. Billy's as cool as a cucumber in a tub of ice cream and as sharp as a porcupine's Sunday suit. His arrows fly straighter than a ruler on a diet and faster than a coyote on roller skates. Billy's gang of archers, affectionately known as the "Okie Bowsters," are a wild and woolly bunch. There's Lasso Lucy, the freckled firecracker who can clip a cactus at a hundred paces. Don’t forget Goggles Gus, a bespectacled whizz who can hit a bullseye even in his sleep! Weekends find them out in the rolling plains, bows in hand, eyes on the target and laughter in the air. Wild rabbits pause in their romp to watch in awe as arrows whiz by, and even the mockingbirds hush their singing. The wind seems to hold its breath as the Okie Bowsters take aim, their focus as sharp as the tips of their arrows. The Oklahoma sky stretches out endlessly above them, a canvas of blue and gold, dotted with fluffy white clouds. The Okie Bowsters don't just hit their targets; they shoot for the stars. And as they laugh and cheer, they create a little piece of magic in the heart of Oklahoma, where kids with dreams become legends with bows.
