Once upon a time, in the bustling, dazzling state of New York, where skyscrapers kissed the sky and pizza slices were as broad as smiles, a pack of brave, pint-sized adventurers, known as the 'Zip Zap Zumbies', were on a thrilling quest. They weren't your average New Yorkers. No, siree! They were the audacious, high-flying, zip lining kings and queens of the Empire State.

Dressed in their brightly colored helmets that could be spotted from a satellite in space, fluttering capes, and boots that hadn't been tied quite right, the 'Zip Zap Zumbies' were always ready for their next high-speed escapade. Their favorite haunt was the forests of the Adirondacks. They would spend their days catapulting through the leafy canopy, leaving trails of laughter in the wind as they zipped from tree to tree, like squirrels on a sugar rush.

The 'Zip Zap Zumbies' were led by their fearless leader, Whiz Kid Wally. A ten-year-old with freckles scattered across his nose like constellations, Wally had a heart of gold and a laugh that could wake a hibernating bear. His red hair turned fiery under the sun, earning him the nickname, the 'Flaming Comet'. He was the fastest zipliner in all of New York State - maybe even the world!

But it wasn't about being the fastest for the 'Zip Zap Zumbies'. It was about being together, sharing giggles and screams, and filling their hearts with the joy of flight. So, if you're ever in New York, listen for the winds carrying their laughter, and look up. You might just spot a 'Zip Zap Zumbie' zipping past.

The hard work and dedication of Mel Northrop, Colin Caldwell, and Stephen Smith to start a summer Bible camp for children paid off in July 1952 when the first Camp Li-Lo-Li opened at Allegany State Park. Despite the fact that these three men had never run a camp before, their passion for the ministry inspired them to learn the ins and outs of running a camp and they succeeded in their mission. The camp was named by 11-year-old Betty Carol Northrop in a naming competition and stands for Life-Love-Light, all attributes of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Camp Hilltop has been a part of the Hancock, New York community since 1924. This beautiful camp is situated on 600 acres of woodlands and fields, with a private lake, in the picturesque Catskill Mountains, just two and a half hours from New York City. This summer camp offers a variety of activities, including water skiing, wakeboarding, trapeze, hiking, horses, climbing tower, high ropes, and many sports, performing arts and arts and crafts. We strive to provide a safe, nurturing and non-competitive environment, with a four to one camper to counselor ratio, overseen by a mature, skilled and caring staff. 

Camp Hilltop is more than just a summer camp; it’s a place where children and young adults can find a friendly and fun community and explore the wondrous possibilities in their lives. Whether it be for two weeks or eight, we provide a safe and supportive environment that encourages campers to develop their skills, build relationships, and grow in confidence.

Camp Nabby has been providing Westchester County families with summer fun since 1940. In 1970, the Bertino family, led by Frank and Flo, became the second owners of the then-called Nabby Day Camp. As an experienced educator and coach, Frank was eager to take on the challenge of creating a top-notch physical education program from the ground up.

Prior to coming to Camp Nabby, Frank and Flo had spent 44 years at Riverdale Country School in the Bronx, where Frank held a distinguished record as an administrator and teacher. His greatest accomplishments, however, were on the football field: in four decades of coaching, Frank led Riverdale teams to an impressive 17 undefeated seasons and 17 Ivy Preparatory School League championships, with a final record of 247‑47‑6.

Camp Nabby is a beloved Westchester summer day camp that has been creating lasting memories for families since 1940. Nabby Day Camp

Since 1989, Gate Hill has been a part of the Male family. Josh, Bob, and Jennifer, the camp directors emeritus, have been overseeing the daily operations of the camp and providing supervision to both staff and campers. However, the word “family” extends beyond the Male family, with campers, parents, and staff all part of the Gate Hill family. 

We want to ensure that our campers have a fulfilling experience, so we provide parents with updates on their child’s progress, friendships, and stories that make them smile. We are also available to answer any questions that parents may have to make sure their child has the best possible camp experience.

At Timber Lake West, kids can enjoy a full season camp experience in just 4 weeks. This gives families the flexibility to be able to combine a session at West with other activities and vacation plans. With its welcoming family atmosphere, the camp is the perfect stepping stone into the world of resident camp for first-time campers. Parents can rest assured that their kids are getting the full camp experience in a safe, secure environment.
