In the whimsical land of New Jersey, a state known for its vibrant boardwalks, lush greenery, and an inexplicable number of diners, dwells a troop of extraordinary kids engaged in a magical activity known as Theater/Drama. New Jersey, or as it's known in the secret world of drama - "The Stage State," is a hidden treasure trove of talent, where kids get to explore their dramatic genius.

Our story revolves around a quirky imaginary character, Sir Thespian Llama, or as his friends call him, "Thespi-Llama." Now Thespi-Llama isn't your ordinary llama. He doesn't graze meadows or climb mountains. He's got a passion for the theater, a snazzy waistcoat, and a habit of reciting Shakespeare at the most unexpected of times. 

The kids of New Jersey, inspired by their furry, dramatic compatriot, dive headfirst into the world of theater! They're the kind of kids who treat life as their stage, never missing a chance to perform, be it at school, at the dinner table, or even while brushing their teeth! They play everything from rambunctious pirates to wise wizards, from giggling goblins to elegant elves, with a zeal that can outshine Broadway!

This bunch of drama enthusiasts, led by our Thespi-Llama, fill every day with their infectious laughter, wild creativity, and a sprinkle of madness. They make their state proud, keeping the drama alive, in more ways than one. So, when you ask someone about New Jersey, they might talk about the beaches, the parks, or the food, but if you ask Thespi-Llama, he'd say it's the kids in theater who make this state truly extraordinary!

Welcome to the wonderful world of Swift Nature Camp an overnight camp for boys and girls ages 6-15 located in the beautiful Northwoods of Wisconsin. 

 I’m Lonnie, the Camp Director, and I’m thrilled to share what makes SNC such a special place for kids and families alike. For nearly 30 years, our mission has been to create an environment where children can grow, discover, and make lifelong memories. Here at camp, we focus on friendship, personal development, and a deep connection to nature—all in a fun, supportive, and adventurous setting. All this without cell phones
One of the things that sets Swift Nature Camp apart is our focus on fostering independence and confidence. Whether it’s trying a new activity like canoeing, taking on a leadership role in a group project, or simply navigating life away from home, camp provides endless opportunities for personal growth. We celebrate each camper’s unique personality and encourage them to step outside their comfort zone in a safe and nurturing way. Seeing kids gain new skills and pride in their accomplishments is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.

For our youngest campers, Discovery Camp is an especially magical experience. Designed only for first-time campers ages 6-12, this shorter program gives kids a chance to experience the joys of camp life in a way that’s just right for them. It’s amazing to watch these kids try new things—from learning about the natural world to singing campfire songs—and leave camp with big smiles and even bigger stories to tell. Discovery Camp is often the beginning of a long and cherished relationship with SNC, and we’re so proud to see those first-time campers grow into confident and capable young people.

Another cornerstone of Swift Nature Camp is our connection to the environment. We believe that nature isn’t just a backdrop for camp; it’s a teacher, a playground, and a source of endless wonder. Through hands-on activities like pond studies, wildlife observation, and outdoor adventures, campers develop an appreciation for the natural world that stays with them long after camp ends. The Camp Zoo is always a favorite, campers can even adopt a pet while at camp.Our goal is to inspire kids to become curious, mindful stewards of the environment.

At Swift Nature Camp, there’s never a dull day! With hundreds of land and water activities, campers are always engaged and excited. On land, some favorites include the Lego Cabin, Arts & Crafts, Archery, and exploring the Nature Center. On the water, campers learn Canoeing, Fishing, and Swimming, but the absolute favorites are Tubing behind the boat and jumping off the Water Trampoline. Never is there a dull day because every day is packed with fun, adventure, and opportunities to try something new.
Of course, none of this would be possible without the amazing friendships that form here. SNC is a place where kids truly feel like they belong. Campers and counselors alike bring warmth, kindness, and enthusiasm to everything we do, creating a strong sense of community. Whether it’s cheering each other on during a game, collaborating on a creative project, or sharing laughs around the campfire, the bonds formed at Swift Nature Camp are something truly special.

Each summer, we hire approximately 375 staff members to ensure a great experience for all our campers. 

At Tall Pines Day Camp Inchope, we are dedicated to providing campers with an unforgettable summer experience. Our campers can enjoy a balanced selection of activities, from basketball and gaga to swimming, soccer, and miniature golf. We prioritize creating a positive and inviting work atmosphere, which is why our staff return rate is 90 percent, far exceeding the national average of 50 percent. Every summer, we hire approximately 375 staff members to help make the camp experience as enjoyable as possible.

For 95 years, Seashore Day Camp has been providing area families with terrific programs and conveniences like door-to-door transportation and extended-care services, and this has earned us a Parents’ Pick and the 2020 Most Loved All Around Day Camp award. Our unique program offers a variety of activities, including sports, swimming, arts and crafts, nature, drama, and music. Rising Treetops at Oakhurst started as a place for children to enjoy fresh air and spend the summer away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Established in 1906 as The Crippled Children's East Side Free School in Lower East Side of Manhattan, the summer home was the first of its kind dedicated to providing respite for those with physical disabilities. It was a simple place with a dormitory for boys and girls, cots to sleep on, and an infirmary. 

In 1946, the organization was renamed New York Service for the Orthopedically Handicapped and began its pilot pre-school program for children with cerebral palsy. The program was designed to be an intensive one, incorporating physical and speech therapy into the curriculum. The success of the program was such that in 1952, the Board of Education adopted it in its entirety. This program went on to become a model for other pre-schools and special education programs. 

Today, Rising Treetops at Oakhurst is a vibrant and accessible space for children with physical disabilities. It offers a range of activities and therapies designed to empower young ones and give them the confidence they need to thrive in their everyday life.

At Star Lake summer camp, campers can make lasting memories and gain a unique connection with nature. The Salvation Army has been providing this camp experience to children from the Greater New York area since 1923, giving thousands of youngsters the opportunity to explore the 400-acre property in Bloomingdale, New Jersey. Here, kids can enjoy activities such as boating, swimming and fishing in the three lakes and two waterfalls.

Star Lake camp offers the chance for children to have a meaningful and fun vacation. Programs are tailored to provide campers with a sense of worship and reverence, as well as to help them discover their place in a larger world. Through these activities, children can gain confidence, learn new skills and form lifelong friendships.

The Salvation Army has been providing joy and adventure to kids at Star Lake summer camp for nearly a century. With its stunning natural beauty, campers can be sure to come away with incredible memories and experiences that will stay with them for years to come.

At the Tate Academy, students can benefit from a wide variety of dance and performance programs. Our Summer Intensive program offers an opportunity for dancers to hone their skills and gain new knowledge in a variety of dance disciplines.
