They balance their rigorous training with epic pizza parties, epic beach days, and yes, even epic gardening (because they are from the Garden State after all!). They have a knack for turning every karate lesson into a comedy show. Let's just say their karate instructor, Mr. Chop Chop, has learned the hard way that sometimes a laugh can pack a harder punch than a karate chop. FIMA is one of the premier martial arts schools in the Bergen County area. Since 1990 we have offered professional martial arts instruction to both children and adults in all levels, from the beginner to advanced. The American Tactical Self-Defense System of Heiho Shin Do Ju-Jitsu is the dominant curriculum taught at FIMA. This tactical system was created by Shodai Senei Faustini in 1990. A Tae Kwon Do Curriculum is also offered at the Dojo. Many students choose to cross-train and achieve ranking in both systems. FIMA offers martial arts classes at all levels for adults and children ages 4 and up, featuring Tae Kwon Do, Jiu Jitsu, Judo/Grappling, Mixed Martial Arts, Self Defense and Kickboxing.
