Once upon a time in the little, bustling state of New Jersey, bustling not just because of its turnpikes, parkways, or even its famous boardwalk salt-water taffy, but bustling with the energy of wrestling youngsters. These kids were no ordinary kids, oh, no! They were the mighty little wrestlers of New Jersey, a breed so unique they could only be found in this particular corner of the world. Our story begins with the most extraordinary of them all, a ten-year-old dynamo named Billy "The Bruiser" Butterbean. Billy was a pint-sized powerhouse with muscles tougher than the core of a Jersey tomato, and a heart as big as the famous Metlife Stadium. He had a smile that could light up the gloomiest winter day in Newark, and a laugh that echoed through the halls of the local wrestling gym, bouncing off gym mats and weight benches with a joyous rhythm. Billy and his band of wrestling prodigies were scattered throughout the Garden State but came together like a well-tossed salad. They were as diverse as the population of New Jersey itself, hailing from the sandy beaches of the Jersey Shore, the sprawling suburbs of Princeton, and the bustling streets of Jersey City. Like a bunch of mini superheroes, they would gather at the wrestling gym, all hyped up, ready to pin down the challenges that lay ahead. Their wrestling matches were as legendary as the Jersey Devil itself and often as dramatic as an episode of the Real Housewives of New Jersey. But most importantly, the wrestling rumbles were filled with laughter, camaraderie, and friendly competition. So, imagine a gang of mini Hulk Hogans, each with a unique quirk, wrestling not just for the love of the sport, but for the sheer love of fun. That’s the fantastic world of the wrestling kids from New Jersey!

For over 50 years, Frontier Camp has been dedicated to making disciples of Jesus by sharing God’s Word amidst the beauty of His creation. Since our founding in 1969, we’ve been licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services and are proudly accredited by the American Camping Association. We’re also a member of the Christian Camping and Conference Association. Our mission is to use Christian camping and outdoor recreation as a means to support local churches in fulfilling the Great Commission—evangelizing people of all ages and discipling believers toward deeper maturity in Christ. Frontier Camp offers a dual ministry: during the summer, we host a 10-week youth camp, and throughout the rest of the year, we serve as a retreat facility for churches and like-minded religious organizations. Whether through summer camps or retreats, our goal remains the same: to expose people to Christ and encourage their spiritual growth through His Word and by reflecting His character in everything we do. While we provide top-notch recreation and exciting programming, the heart of our camp is the spiritual impact, rooted in the truth of God’s inerrant Word.

The “Nicholas Scott Catone Training Center” named after Nick’s late son is a 31,300 square foot state of the art training facility located in Bricktown NJ, and is a Ricardo Almeida / Renzo Gracie affiliate gym. We first opened a 3,200 square ft. facility on September 18, 2010. The following year, in November of 2011, the academy expanded to a 5,200 square ft training facility. Just two years later in November of 2013 we expanded a second time to 8,000 square ft. facility. On December 19, 2017 Nick Catone purchased the building we now occupy, which opened its doors September 8, 2018 on Nick’s late son Nicholas’s 3rd birthday who unexpectedly passed away at the age of 20 months on May 12, 2017. The beautiful facility was built and now stands in memoram of his son Nicholas.
