Now, the kids you see paddling along the rivers, lakes and bayous of Mississippi aren't your ordinary landlubbers. No, siree, these younguns are fearsome water wizards, gliding their canoes and boats through the water with the grace of a swimming snail (which is quite graceful, don't let anyone fool ya!). They take on the gushing currents of the Mississippi River, paddle around the serene Sardis Lake, and even venture into the mysterious swamps of the Mississippi Delta. They, my friends, are the brave Boating Buccaneers of Mississippi. These kiddos are a laughing lot, always ready with a joke about a catfish wearing sunglasses or a turtle winning a swimming race. And they have a special talent - they can spot the shiniest pebble at the bottom of a creek or the biggest bullfrog on a lily pad from a mile away! But don't challenge them to a water splashing fight, unless you're prepared to be as soaked as a duck in a rainstorm. So, come on down to Mississippi, join the ranks of the Boating Buccaneers, and let’s create some splash-tastic memories together. Nestled in 178 acres of lush woodland is a serene escape from the city, a place fondly known as Camp Swamp. This overnight Christian camp, located just two hours east of bustling Atlanta, has been serving as a peaceful retreat since 1992. We like to think of it as our own "little slice of heaven," offering a respite from the daily hustle and bustle, and inviting people to reconnect with nature and their spirituality. Our primary offering is a week-long summer camp, but we've expanded over the years to include more than just summer fun. As part of our mission to support families and churches, we now also host three family camps throughout the year, as well as four parent/child retreats. These events offer a chance for families to bond, parents to connect with their children, and individuals to grow in their faith. Moreover, our facilities are not exclusive to our organized events.
