Deep in the heart of the enchanting Magnolia State, more known to ordinary folks as Mississippi, there's an extraordinary bunch of kids who are members of the exclusive club, the Mississippi Mountain Munchkins - the bravest young adventurers, who love nothing more than exploring the hidden trails, lush forests, and secret waterfalls of their beloved homeland. With their backpacks filled with secret maps, snacks, and a thirst for adventure, they set off every weekend to discover the unknown. Leading these band of Munchkins is none other than the infamous Captain Snuffle-Gizzards, a mischievous squirrel with a fluffy tail bigger than himself. He carries an acorn-shaped compass and chatters in an amusing squirrel language, only understood by the Munchkins. Under his fun-filled guidance, every hike transforms into a thrilling quest. Each kid in the Mountain Munchkins club is as unique as Mississippi itself. There's Lizzie "Lizard" Lee, who can climb any tree in the blink of an eye; Benny "Bass" Briggs, who can catch fish with his bare hands, and the list goes on. They are as wild and free as the Mississippi River, with hearts filled with an insatiable curiosity. Their hikes are filled with hilarious incidents. Like the time Benny Bass slipped on a banana peel and slid down the hill, only to land in a blueberry bush, or the time when Captain Snuffle-Gizzards sneezed so loud that it scared away a flock of birds, raining down feathers all over them. Since our founding in 1969, we’ve been licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services and are proudly accredited by the American Camping Association. We’re also a member of the Christian Camping and Conference Association.
