In the spectacular state of Michigan, where lakes twinkle like sapphire gems and rivers run like silver threads across lush landscapes, an adventurous group of kids embark on the most fantastic water activities. Michigan, also known as the 'Great Lakes State', is home to more than 11,000 inland lakes, making it a perfect water playground for our brave little heroes.

In this refreshing tale, our main character is a jolly, green frog named Captain Bubbles. He’s got a hearty laugh that could wake up a hibernating bear, and webbed feet faster than a school of fleeing minnows. He wears a comical red admiral's hat, tilted just so, and sports a dashing pair of goldfish-orange swim trunks.

Captain Bubbles is the guide for our fun-loving, water-splashing Michigan kids, who spend their days exploring the water in all sorts of imaginative ways. They sail across the vast Lake Michigan, pretending to be pirates searching for hidden treasures. They paddle through the winding rivers, having wild races with the darting fishes. And in the freezing winter, they turn into polar explorers, daringly cutting holes in the ice for fishing.

The laughter and cheer of these kids echo across the lakes and rivers, their joy as abundant as the water around them. They dive, swim, splash, and soak, making the most of every wave and ripple. Under the watchful eye of Captain Bubbles, their laughter and love for water adventures are as endless as the Michigan shores. So, hold on to your swim caps, kids, because in Michigan, the water's always fine, and the adventures are just beginning!

At Camp Newaygo, families and kids alike can enjoy a unique and unforgettable experience. Our year-round program, conference and retreat facility was founded in 1926 and provides summer programs, year-round rentals, community events and innovative family programs on our beautiful 104 acres. Our Girls’ Overnight Camp provides an amazing opportunity for kids to make lasting memories and create lifelong friendships.

Kids can look forward to a jam-packed day with smiling counselors who are ready to sing songs, play wacky sports and laugh along with them all day. They can look forward to activities such as digging for dinosaur bones and fighting off dragons in the morning, and then cooling off in the lake, paddling in canoes and cheering for their friends in archery in the afternoon. At the end of the day, kids can wave goodbye with a smile, knowing that they’ll get to do it all over again the next day.

Oakland Yard Summer Adventure Camps are a sports and recreation facility with an indoor driving range and an extensive summer camp program. Come check out our staff, facility, and directors.  Kids can goof around, parents can relax with a beverage, and see what camp is all about.  Weather permitting, our Slip-n-slide will be open throughout this event, so bring towels. Our expansion in 1998 allowed us to provide the Southwest Michigan community with a year-round facility that serves families, schools, and businesses. In addition, we've kept nearly a mile of Eagle Lake shoreline undeveloped, creating a safe and natural environment for our guests. We hold over 5,000 guests each year and are licensed by the State of Michigan and accredited by the American Camp Association.
