Leading them is the whimsically wild and wacky Wilbur Whiskerwig. Yep, you heard right! Wilbur Whiskerwig, the only moose in Maine (or the world, for that matter) who directs plays with an antler-entwined director's megaphone. With his booming voice that can out-roar the fiercest of Maine's black bears and his theatrical flair that dazzles brighter than the easternmost sunrise at Quoddy Head, Wilbur helps the kids create the most mesmerizing performances. The Drama Dynamos are a hodgepodge of incredible kiddo-talent, from the shy Sammy, whose impersonation of a chirping seagull could fool any seasoned fisherman, to Bella, who can perform pirouettes as gracefully as a fall leaf pirouetting down from a towering pine! Under Wilbur's tutelage, this fanciful flock of young dreamers lights up the stage, bringing laughter, awe, and the occasional happy tear to the faces of their adoring audiences. We also welcome homeschool groups and are thrilled to announce the recent addition of a forest school program to our repertoire. You can find Spark on-site in various schools and at our main studio located in the Upper West Side. But we're not stopping there - we're also planning to expand to the Upper East Side and Brooklyn. For our families in Pennsylvania, we run the program from our family studio there. And if you're not in close proximity to any of our locations, don't worry. We offer in-home instruction and virtual options to ensure that Spark can reach you, no matter where you are. Dr. George Alexander Kohut, a literary scholar and educator with a vision to provide a healthy and character-building outdoor experience, founded Kamp Kohut in 1907. Coming from the heat and pollution of the city, he ran a boys' school in New York, hence calling it "Kohut's School for Boys". At Kamp Kohut, we pay special attention to the individual qualities of each camper. We understand that each child has different needs and interests and we strive to make sure that all campers have a truly special summer experience. We provide close supervision and carefully orchestrated detail to ensure that each child’s camp experience is successful.
