In the snuggly, pinecone-sprinkled state of Maine, also humorously known as the 'Pine Tree State', there lies an incredible place called Sportsfield. Now, you might think it's just a regular field where kids play sports, but oh, how wrong you are! This particular field has a magic of its own, a kind of enchantment that turns every kid into a super-athlete. 

The Sportsfield kids are no ordinary bunch, oh no! They are as unique as lobster ice cream and as lively as the moose-tastic forests surrounding them. Every morning, they bolt from their homes faster than a hummingbird on a sugar high, ready to take on any challenge Sportsfield throws their way. They are as determined as beavers building a dam, always eager to improve their game and support their team, displaying a sportsmanship as lovely and inspiring as a Maine sunrise.

Now, meet their coolest yet goofiest imaginary friend, Jumpy the Jackalope. A mythical creature with the body of a rabbit and antlers of an antelope, Jumpy is the heart and soul of Sportsfield. He's the one who brings the magic, turning every game into a thrilling adventure. One day, he might turn a baseball into a shooting star or the soccer ball may suddenly start behaving like a mischievous squirrel. 

Jumpy’s antics keep the kids on their toes and their laughter ringing across the field. With Jumpy by their side, Sportsfield becomes not just about winning or losing, but about having a whale of a time. The kids of Sportsfield, with their wild imaginations and Jumpy’s crazy magic, make every day in Maine a captivating, belly-laugh-inducing adventure.

Abe and Gertrude Krasker's dream of owning a summer camp came true in 1924 when they opened Indian Acres Camp for Boys in Fryeburg, ME. The couple had fallen in love with a property they purchased from Abe's student at Essex College. Two years later, they opened Forest Acres Camp for Girls two miles down the road. 

When Abe passed away in 1962, his son Richard took over the management of both camps, with his mother teaching him the ropes of camp ownership. He and his wife Sandy fully took over in 1969. In 1998, the camps were purchased by Lisa and Geoff Newman who were determined to keep the tradition the Kraskers had established alive. 

Between 2005 and 2010, Neal and Julie Waldman co-directed camp with Lisa and Geoff. Now, almost 100 years after its founding, Indian and Forest Acres thrive under the Newman’s leadership with tradition at the heart of what makes the camp so special.

At Nichols Day Camp, we provide our peninsula area youth with an abundance of outdoor recreational and educational opportunities. Our 501(c)(3) non-profit, originally incorporated in 1963, is part of the Blue Hill Society for Aid to Children and our mission is to inspire a lifelong love for nature in our youth. By providing them with access to our woods, wind, water and all that Maine has to offer, we help foster a sense of confidence and self-esteem. We are dedicated to giving our youth the experiences they need to grow and develop in a safe and nurturing environment.

Fernwood Cove is a place where girls can be themselves and explore their potential. With a focus on age-appropriate skill development and personal growth, Fernwood Cove is a place where the possibilities are endless. From the intentional program, inclusive community, and supportive staff, your daughter will have an amazing summer that she will never forget. Girls ages 7-15 and teens ages 16-18 have the opportunity to explore their independence, build strong relationships, and develop self-confidence.

Abraham and Gertrude Krasker, a professor and teacher from Essex College, had a dream to own a summer camp of their own. They found the perfect spot, a farm nestled in Fryeburg, ME and opened the doors of Indian Acres Camp for Boys in 1924. Two years later, Forest Acres Camp for Girls opened two miles down the road. 

When Abraham passed in 1962, their son Dick took over ownership and management of both camps. With his wife Sandy, Dick ran camp until 1998 when it was purchased by Lisa and Geoff Newman. The Newmans were determined to keep the Krasker's legacy alive and with the help of Neal and Julie Waldman, their dream became a reality. 

Today, Indian and Forest Acres is a thriving summer camp thanks to the hard work of the Newman family. Almost 100 years after its founding, the camp continues to honor the traditions and vision of its founders, Abe and Gertrude Krasker.

Dr. George Alexander Kohut, a literary scholar and educator with a vision to provide a healthy and character-building outdoor experience, founded Kamp Kohut in 1907. Coming from the heat and pollution of the city, he ran a boys' school in New York, hence calling it "Kohut's School for Boys".

At Kamp Kohut, we pay special attention to the individual qualities of each camper. We understand that each child has different needs and interests and we strive to make sure that all campers have a truly special summer experience. We provide close supervision and carefully orchestrated detail to ensure that each child’s camp experience is successful.

At Camp Tapawingo, we are a close-knit family of campers and staff members. We share in the joys of our collective experiences, celebrate our differences, and hold one another accountable to our philosophy and culture. Our campers learn to camp, paddle the lazy Saco River, and explore the rugged trails of Maine in preparation for more challenging hikes and white water rafting. At Camp Tapawingo, we believe in the value of exploration and adventure. We provide our campers with the opportunity to discover the beauty of the Maine outdoors, from the lazy Saco River to the summit of Mount Katahdin. With trips to the Ogunquit region of the Maine coast and Montreal, our campers are exposed to a variety of experiences to help them grow and develop. 

Our campers leave Camp Tapawingo with a sense of belonging and a wealth of memories. By fostering a camp community that encourages open communication, mutual respect, and accountability, we create an atmosphere that allows our campers to create deep relationships and lasting connections.

Hidden Valley Camp has been a beloved part of family life since 1948. Located in a beautiful and tranquil 350-acre site near the Maine coast, this acclaimed international summer camp offers children and teens, ages 8 to 14, the very best in both arts and outdoor activities. 

You can choose your own focus, whether you're after art camp, horse camp, dance camp, water camp, farm camp, adventure camp, performing arts camp, or sports camp – or any combination of these great areas. Each day, campers will benefit from four one-hour periods of class instruction, enabling them to create, explore and set goals in any of the programs. Parents and campers can even let us know their wishes prior to the summer and we'll help design a tailored camp experience.

At Camp Takajo, we maintain a traditional camp experience that is focused on teaching and reinforcing the twelve Arch Ideals. These ideals are at the center of camp life and serve as a guide for our campers and staff members. The 12 Arch Ideals are integral to the Camp Takajo experience. These ideals form the foundation of our camp and are the cornerstone of our program. They are emulated by our staff and embraced by our campers. The ideals are reinforced throughout camp in both formal and informal settings, from educational assemblies and campfires to daily interactions. They provide the guiding principles for all of our campers and staff, setting the tone for a positive and meaningful summer experience.
