In the far northeastern realm of the United States, where the sun first peeks its golden rays over the horizon, lies the enchanting land of Maine. This magical environment, often blanketed with snow in winter and dotted with radiant wildflowers come summer, is home to many adventurous kids who have a special love for flipping, twisting, and twirling - yes, you guessed it, Gymnastics! In the heart of Maine, there's a mystical gymnasium, unlike any other. Here, the children don't just perform gymnastics, they live it, they breathe it, they dream about it. One of these kids is a spunky little fella named Zippy Zeke. Zeke isn't like most boys. He has a secret power- he can turn anything into a springy panel for flips and bounds. A tree stump, a park bench, even a pancake stack at breakfast – Zippy Zeke simply can't resist a good somersault! With his wild, red hair always sticking up, as if he's permanently mid-flip, Zippy is the epitome of Maine's gymnastics spirit. He's funny, full of life, and always up for a good laugh. He keeps the energy in the gymnasium high. He often uses his lobster friend, Larry, as his assistant, who willingly turns into a cartwheeling sidekick. Yes, you heard that right - a gymnastic lobster! Together, they inspire all the other kids to passionately twirl on the balance beam, somersault on the floor, and swing on the bars. The kids in Maine don't just love gymnastics; they experience gymnastics in a magical, quirky, Zippy Zeke kind of way!

For over 50 years, Frontier Camp has been dedicated to making disciples of Jesus by sharing God’s Word amidst the beauty of His creation. Since our founding in 1969, we’ve been licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services and are proudly accredited by the American Camping Association. We’re also a member of the Christian Camping and Conference Association. Our mission is to use Christian camping and outdoor recreation as a means to support local churches in fulfilling the Great Commission—evangelizing people of all ages and discipling believers toward deeper maturity in Christ. Frontier Camp offers a dual ministry: during the summer, we host a 10-week youth camp, and throughout the rest of the year, we serve as a retreat facility for churches and like-minded religious organizations. Whether through summer camps or retreats, our goal remains the same: to expose people to Christ and encourage their spiritual growth through His Word and by reflecting His character in everything we do. While we provide top-notch recreation and exciting programming, the heart of our camp is the spiritual impact, rooted in the truth of God’s inerrant Word.
At Camp Tapawingo, we are a close-knit family of campers and staff members. We share in the joys of our collective experiences, celebrate our differences, and hold one another accountable to our philosophy and culture. Our campers learn to camp, paddle the lazy Saco River, and explore the rugged trails of Maine in preparation for more challenging hikes and white water rafting. Through our camp community, our campers build strong connections and deep relationships that will last a lifetime. At Camp Tapawingo, we believe in the value of exploration and adventure. We provide our campers with the opportunity to discover the beauty of the Maine outdoors, from the lazy Saco River to the summit of Mount Katahdin. With trips to the Ogunquit region of the Maine coast and Montreal, our campers are exposed to a variety of experiences to help them grow and develop. Our campers leave Camp Tapawingo with a sense of belonging and a wealth of memories. By fostering a camp community that encourages open communication, mutual respect, and accountability, we create an atmosphere that allows our campers to create deep relationships and lasting connections.
