No, our tale is about a quirky group of kids, the Karate Crusaders of Maryland, who with their bare hands and feisty spirits, battle the invisible dragons of laziness and boredom. The leader of our pack is a ten-year-old boy named Billy "Bam-Bam" Johnson. His wild mop of hair, which he claims is 'dragon fire' red, is as untamed as his high kicks. He could punch a hole through a raincloud and roundhouse kick a bolt of lightning, or so he says. Billy, along with his fearless team, romp through the state from Baltimore to Salisbury, turning every public park into a karate dojo and every parking lot into a battlefield where they practice their moves. Now, these aren't ordinary kids. They have turned Maryland into their personal playground, where every crab is a hidden ninja and every seagull shriek is a battle cry. They have a fearless spirit and a sense of humor that could tickle a ticklish turtle. Imagine trying to break a board with your bare hands while balancing on a Maryland blue crab, or using your best karate chop to crack open a crab claw without getting nipped. That's a regular Tuesday for our Karate Crusaders! So, if you ever visit the enchanting state of Maryland, beware! You might get caught in the crossfire of a kung fu match between Billy "Bam-Bam" Johnson and a particularly grumpy crab. For over 50 years, Frontier Camp has been dedicated to making disciples of Jesus by sharing God’s Word amidst the beauty of His creation. Since our founding in 1969, we’ve been licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services and are proudly accredited by the American Camping Association. We’re also a member of the Christian Camping and Conference Association. Our mission is to use Christian camping and outdoor recreation as a means to support local churches in fulfilling the Great Commission—evangelizing people of all ages and discipling believers toward deeper maturity in Christ. Frontier Camp offers a dual ministry: during the summer, we host a 10-week youth camp, and throughout the rest of the year, we serve as a retreat facility for churches and like-minded religious organizations. Whether through summer camps or retreats, our goal remains the same: to expose people to Christ and encourage their spiritual growth through His Word and by reflecting His character in everything we do. While we provide top-notch recreation and exciting programming, the heart of our camp is the spiritual impact, rooted in the truth of God’s inerrant Word.
