Nestled in 178 acres of lush woodland is a serene escape from the city, a place fondly known as Camp Swamp. This overnight Christian camp, located just two hours east of bustling Atlanta, has been serving as a peaceful retreat since 1992. We like to think of it as our own "little slice of heaven," offering a respite from the daily hustle and bustle, and inviting people to reconnect with nature and their spirituality. Our primary offering is a week-long summer camp, but we've expanded over the years to include more than just summer fun. As part of our mission to support families and churches, we now also host three family camps throughout the year, as well as four parent/child retreats. Her goal is to instill a great love of music in her students. Lessons are offered at her home studio, providing a unique and comfortable learning environment.
Yvonne Dahlberg founded Mill Brook Kindergarten and Preschool in 1986, and Janine King took the reins as owner soon afterwards. Together with her daughters, Justine Sutton and Emily Vieira, and the rest of the staff, Janine has been providing a nurturing educational environment for children from infancy to preschool since 1996. Emily Vieira is now taking on the role of director, and is eager to return to the place she calls “home.” Emily has been an experienced Kindergarten teacher in the Wilmington public school system for the past 12 years, and is excited to bring her expertise to Mill Brook. With her passion for educating young children, Emily is sure to be an asset to the Mill Brook community.
