He's been known to scurry onto the football field during a big match, mistaking the ball for a massive walnut. He's also notorious for wearing upside-down baseball caps and doing hilarious victory dances, which usually involve a lot of wiggling and giggling. The kids love him, and he's considered the unofficial mascot of Sportsfield. The kids in Massachusetts' Sportsfield are a diverse, energetic bunch who embrace each other's differences. Good Pickin’ Farm is committed to providing experiential learning opportunities for children, teens and adults through farming, arts, workshops, and recreational activities. We have created an environment where people can reconnect with nature and explore sustainable living. Our mission is to remind people about their roots in nature and to foster a sense of community. Our team of three – an educator, a farmer and an artist – has brought together a variety of perspectives to make our dream of Good Pickin’ Farm a reality. Good Pickin’ Farm is located on the original Meadowbrook Farm, which includes a barn, 1850’s schoolhouse, cider mill, and 89 acres of pristine farmland and woods. We invite the community and surrounding towns to join us in experiencing the joy of living a sustainable life and reconnecting with nature. Through a variety of activities, we are committed to providing experiential learning and building a sense of community.
At the Westford Children's Learning Center, families will enjoy the convenience of being at the junction of Route 3 and Route 40, while the kids explore 2 acres of scenic woodland and a closed in playground and field backed up against conservation land. Through nature-based learning experiences, both children and staff can take advantage of the outdoors year round. Programs range from 6 weeks to 6 years, with before and after care and after school and summer camp options.
