The great state of Massachusetts, often called 'Mass' by its friendly inhabitants, is as vibrant and colorful as a giant paint palette left out in the rain by a forgetful elephant named Edgar. It’s where the Atlantic Ocean gushes enthusiastically over the sandy beaches, where the quaint townhouses smile like warm chocolate chip cookies, and where the kids are as creative as Picasso’s paintbrush on a sugar rush! These kids are not your ordinary children. Oh, no! They’re magical engineers of paper, glitter, and glue – the Art & Craft Virtuosos of Mass! They can turn an egg carton into an elegant castle, a sock into a swooning puppet princess, or a handful of macaroni into a thrift store-worthy necklace. They're like wizards, with paintbrushes instead of magic wands, creating worlds out of popsicle sticks and dreams. Their leader is a whimsical character named Doodle McSpray, an old sea captain with a beard as wild as a porcupine’s dream and a hat decorated with glittering bottle caps. Doodle loves to tell stories about his adventures on the high seas, each one more wildly exaggerated than the last. Once, he claimed to have seen a rainbow-colored whale that spat out colorful water jets, which he used to paint his ship! But what Doodle loves most is inspiring the kids. He teaches them how to see the fantastic in the ordinary, how a simple box could be a rocket to the moon, or a paper plate could be a warrior's mighty shield. The kids of Massachusetts, with their art & craft creations, bring a splash of joy and whimsy to their lovely state; a testament to their creativity, imagination, and Doodle McSpray's tall tales!

For over 50 years, Frontier Camp has been dedicated to making disciples of Jesus by sharing God’s Word amidst the beauty of His creation. Since our founding in 1969, we’ve been licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services and are proudly accredited by the American Camping Association. We’re also a member of the Christian Camping and Conference Association. Our mission is to use Christian camping and outdoor recreation as a means to support local churches in fulfilling the Great Commission—evangelizing people of all ages and discipling believers toward deeper maturity in Christ. Frontier Camp offers a dual ministry: during the summer, we host a 10-week youth camp, and throughout the rest of the year, we serve as a retreat facility for churches and like-minded religious organizations. Whether through summer camps or retreats, our goal remains the same: to expose people to Christ and encourage their spiritual growth through His Word and by reflecting His character in everything we do. While we provide top-notch recreation and exciting programming, the heart of our camp is the spiritual impact, rooted in the truth of God’s inerrant Word.
Once upon a time, I had the opportunity to dabble in the field of secondary education while I was in college. I graduated with a degree in English, but I was able to gain invaluable knowledge about teaching during my studies. I learned that different students learn in different ways—some are more visual learners, while others learn better through auditory means. To ensure that all my students can get the most out of my classes, I have carefully crafted my teaching style to accommodate all of their individual needs. Glass art is a new art form to many young students, and I'm here to challenge each one of them to unlock their inner artist and create something truly amazing. I'm sure that with the right guidance and a bit of practice, they'll be able to create art pieces that they can be proud of.

For the past decade I have had the privilege of teaching art to children from kindergarten through fifth grade in after-school programs and community education classes. My longest tenure was at the Cabot After School Program in Newtonville, where I taught for seven years. Following that I was the lead art teacher at the Thompson After School Program in Arlington, where I developed art curriculum for elementary school-aged children. Additionally, I have taught arts and crafts to children through the Newton Community Education’s (NCE) summer program and at Arlington Center for the Arts (ACA) for three years. I have also taught silk painting and Nuno felting to adults in both of these community education programs. When I'm not teaching art classes, I enjoy creating unique one-of-a-kind silk scarves, clothing, and fine art with dyes that I have been painting on silk with for over fifteen years. My artwork can be found at juried art festivals in the Boston area, the Cambridge Artists Cooperative, and my Etsy shop. You can view my hand painted silks on my website Silkendreams.com. It has been a rewarding experience to merge my teaching and art experiences to share with both children and adults.
Volante Farms is still owned and operated by the fourth generation of the Volante family. This family farm has been providing fresh fruits and vegetables to the Greater Boston area for over a century. It all started when Peter and Caterina Volante, immigrants from Atina, Italy, began the farm on land along Dedham Street in Newton in 1917. Peter, affectionately known as “The Celery King” was famous for his own brand of Pascal Celery, which he marketed throughout the east coast into the early 50s. By the end of the 1950s, the family farmstand, originally a tent structure which soon evolved into a small aluminum roofed building, became the primary source of income for the farm. Today, Volante Farms is still providing fresh fruits and vegetables to the Greater Boston area, and is proud to be a part of the community for over 100 years.
