In the quaint but sporty state of Massachusetts, a group of lively kids cluster in the emerald expanse of a baseball field. These aren't your run-of-the-mill, ordinary youngsters, oh no! They are the marvelous, unmatched, mega-powered Massachusetts Mini Red Sox! Like the towering trees of Massachusetts that stretch to the sky, their dreams and ambitions are as high as the stars. Their leader is a ten-year-old boy named Slugger Sam, a lean, mean, baseball-hitting machine. Sam, who has a secret superpower of turning any fruit into a baseball, is well-known for his ‘Apple Smack’ and ‘Watermelon Whack’. It's a sight that leaves the crowd laughing their hats off, as a burst of apple juice or a splash of watermelon flies through the air after his powerful swing! The Mini Red Sox play under the watchful eyes of Sox, a mischievous, magical squirrel. Sox, who wears a tiny Red Sox cap, has a knack for making the most boring practice drills hilariously entertaining. Just when you think you've seen it all, Sox might just replace a baseball with an acorn or perform a nutty cha-cha on the pitcher's mound! Baseball in Massachusetts is not just a game, it's a festival of fun and teamwork. Kids from all over the state travel to share this magical experience, to laugh, to learn, and most importantly, to cherish the joy of playing their favorite sport. They are the little heroes of Massachusetts, weaving tales of laughter, camaraderie, and a love for baseball that's as deep as Boston Harbor!

As parents and coaches, having some familiarity with an AED is a good idea. AEDs are designed to be user friendly and walk users through the steps of use. At our annual coach safety meeting, we review the steps on how to use the AED, so if you’re interested in learning more, you can find instructional videos online. AEDs are becoming increasingly common in many public buildings, and being aware of the steps of use could be a lifesaving skill. It’s something that could come in handy if an emergency situation arises. If you have any questions, feel free to contact the coach safety committee for more information.
