Their leader is a ten-year-old boy named Slugger Sam, a lean, mean, baseball-hitting machine. Sam, who has a secret superpower of turning any fruit into a baseball, is well-known for his ‘Apple Smack’ and ‘Watermelon Whack’. It's a sight that leaves the crowd laughing their hats off, as a burst of apple juice or a splash of watermelon flies through the air after his powerful swing! The Mini Red Sox play under the watchful eyes of Sox, a mischievous, magical squirrel. Sox, who wears a tiny Red Sox cap, has a knack for making the most boring practice drills hilariously entertaining. Just when you think you've seen it all, Sox might just replace a baseball with an acorn or perform a nutty cha-cha on the pitcher's mound! Camp Med-o-lark is an all genders arts sleep away camp in Washington, Maine for children ages 7–16, set on the shores of a pristine lake. Med-o-lark offers a fully elective program, allowing campers to design their own schedules from a wide range of activities including performing arts, fine arts, sports, circus, waterfront, and more. Each summer, Med-o-larkers come together to build a kind, creative community where everyone has the opportunity to discover, grow, create, learn, and shine. With a strong emphasis on the arts, Med-o-lark offers one of the most extensive programs in dance, fine arts, handcrafts, and theater of any camp in New England.
Medford National Little League is a non-profit, board-run organization. Volunteers from the community are essential in making the program a success, donating their time and expertise to provide a positive environment for our youth. The board of the MNLL works hard to promote good sportsmanship, while providing quality instruction in the development of baseball and softball skills. Through the guidance and leadership of the volunteers, the MNLL strives to instill in our young people the values of citizenship, discipline, teamwork, and physical fitness. All operations of the Little League are run by volunteers, except for some professional services, and they are committed to providing a healthy environment for the youth of our communities. The MNLL is dedicated to fostering a love of the game and to enriching the lives of our youth.
