In the magical land of Massachusetts, affectionately nicknamed "The Old Bay State," there's a unique tribe of kids who are not just ordinary children. No, they're the mystical Wood Whittlers of Worcester, the magical Minutemen of Massachusetts!

Imagine a land filled with charming red brick buildings, colorful autumn leaves, and fields that stretch as far as your eyes can see. This is a place where history merges with future, and the smell of sawdust is as familiar as mom's homemade apple pie. Massachusetts is a land of brilliance and bravery, home to the world's coolest superheroes, The Wood Whittlers.

These kids are nothing short of extra-ordinary. Give them a piece of timber, and they'll create magic, transforming the raw, rugged wood into objects that would put a leprechaun's craftsmanship to shame. They carve, they chisel, they sand, and they polish, and voila, you've got a masterpiece!

Their leader, Captain Carving, is a young lad with twinkling eyes, a freckled face, and a head full of curls. Don't be fooled by his mischievous smile. When he firms his grip on a chisel, even the stubbornest piece of mahogany bows down. His cape, made from soft pine shavings, flutters in the wind as he guides his team to create their next woodworking wonder.

Their laughter rings through the Massachusetts air as they cheer each other on, a bunch of talented kids creating masterpieces from mere wooden blocks. They're not just woodworking wizards; they're a fun-sized force to be reckoned with. Welcome to the wonderful world of Swift Nature Camp an overnight camp for boys and girls ages 6-15 located in the beautiful Northwoods of Wisconsin. 

 I’m Lonnie, the Camp Director, and I’m thrilled to share what makes SNC such a special place for kids and families alike. For nearly 30 years, our mission has been to create an environment where children can grow, discover, and make lifelong memories. Here at camp, we focus on friendship, personal development, and a deep connection to nature—all in a fun, supportive, and adventurous setting. All this without cell phones
One of the things that sets Swift Nature Camp apart is our focus on fostering independence and confidence. Whether it’s trying a new activity like canoeing, taking on a leadership role in a group project, or simply navigating life away from home, camp provides endless opportunities for personal growth. We celebrate each camper’s unique personality and encourage them to step outside their comfort zone in a safe and nurturing way. Seeing kids gain new skills and pride in their accomplishments is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.

For our youngest campers, Discovery Camp is an especially magical experience. Designed only for first-time campers ages 6-12, this shorter program gives kids a chance to experience the joys of camp life in a way that’s just right for them. It’s amazing to watch these kids try new things—from learning about the natural world to singing campfire songs—and leave camp with big smiles and even bigger stories to tell. Discovery Camp is often the beginning of a long and cherished relationship with SNC, and we’re so proud to see those first-time campers grow into confident and capable young people.

Another cornerstone of Swift Nature Camp is our connection to the environment. We believe that nature isn’t just a backdrop for camp; it’s a teacher, a playground, and a source of endless wonder. Through hands-on activities like pond studies, wildlife observation, and outdoor adventures, campers develop an appreciation for the natural world that stays with them long after camp ends. The Camp Zoo is always a favorite, campers can even adopt a pet while at camp.Our goal is to inspire kids to become curious, mindful stewards of the environment.

At Swift Nature Camp, there’s never a dull day! With hundreds of land and water activities, campers are always engaged and excited. On land, some favorites include the Lego Cabin, Arts & Crafts, Archery, and exploring the Nature Center. On the water, campers learn Canoeing, Fishing, and Swimming, but the absolute favorites are Tubing behind the boat and jumping off the Water Trampoline. Never is there a dull day because every day is packed with fun, adventure, and opportunities to try something new.
Of course, none of this would be possible without the amazing friendships that form here. SNC is a place where kids truly feel like they belong. Campers and counselors alike bring warmth, kindness, and enthusiasm to everything we do, creating a strong sense of community. Whether it’s cheering each other on during a game, collaborating on a creative project, or sharing laughs around the campfire, the bonds formed at Swift Nature Camp are something truly special.

Camp Winadu is located in the heart of the beautiful Berkshire Mountains, and it is the perfect place for your child to make lifelong memories. Our campers are treated to dark night skies filled with stars and they can take in stunning views of the mountains. Every summer brings a new set of exciting activities and opportunities to make friends who feel like family. 

At Camp Winadu, we strive to provide a safe and encouraging environment for our campers. We believe in teaching children the importance of having a great attitude and sportsmanship, while also showing them that it is okay to make mistakes. Our campers learn to have fun, work hard, and to be a good sport. We want our campers to experience the joy of making positive memories, and to take with them a newfound sense of confidence and self-esteem.

Tabor Summer Camp has been around since 1917, giving young people the chance to grow and develop their potential in a safe and engaging environment. Located on the 85-acre seaside campus of Tabor Academy in Marion, Massachusetts, children will find plenty of activities to keep them busy. From sports such as baseball to creative activities in the art studio and marine science center, there is something for all ages and interests.

The counselors are highly qualified and give children the opportunity to take pride in their achievements. And with the wonders of the waterfront, campers can try their hand at sailing or just relax by the harbor. Introducing Technocopia, a non-profit makerspace located in Worcester, Massachusetts. With a generous 12,000 sq. ft. facility, it’s the ideal place for artisans to get creative and work on their projects. There are common work spaces, rental bays, and a variety of tools to make use of.

At Technocopia, there’s something for everyone. Take advantage of the wood shop, metal shop, 3d printer station, electronics bay, textile studio, glass flameworking shop, classroom, design studio, and CNC router and laser cutter shop. Plus, there are training classes and workshops available in the shared work areas.

If you’re looking for a creative outlet, Technocopia is the perfect place for you. With the wide array of tools and resources, you’ll be able to get inspired and make something truly unique. Plus, the classes and workshops will help you take your skills to the next level.

Not only does it keep the heritage alive, but it allows us to appreciate the hard work of generations before us.

The Green Woodshop

For more than 19 years, the Boys & Girls Club of Fitchburg and Leominster has been helping young people of all backgrounds reach their full potential. In 2008, the organization consolidated its two clubhouses to a single location on the Fitchburg-Leominster line and received its charter from the Boys & Girls Club of America that December.

This exceptional location offers 8 acres of conservation land on a former private school site in a residential setting, as well as access to the Doyle Conservation Center, operated by the Trustees of the Reservations. The clubhouse itself is well-equipped with numerous classrooms, meeting places, a full gymnasium, and a full Teen Center—all of which are designed to provide young people ages 8-18 with the tools and support they need to grow and thrive.

Since 2001, the organization has been dedicated to helping young people reach their full potential, and their combined clubhouse provides a unique and inspiring place for children and teens to learn and grow. At Camp Greylock, a traditional sleepaway camp in the heart of the beautiful Berkshire Mountains of Western Massachusetts, we foster an atmosphere of citizenship, sportsmanship, fair play, and friendship. Our campers, divided equally between junior and senior, get to enjoy a well-rounded program of sports, healthy outdoor activities, and arts. We have an instructional teaching program with nearly 300 acres on a beautiful lakefront campus, and we offer a variety of activities to meet the needs of every camper.
