Their leader is a whimsical character named Doodle McSpray, an old sea captain with a beard as wild as a porcupine’s dream and a hat decorated with glittering bottle caps. Doodle loves to tell stories about his adventures on the high seas, each one more wildly exaggerated than the last. Once, he claimed to have seen a rainbow-colored whale that spat out colorful water jets, which he used to paint his ship! But what Doodle loves most is inspiring the kids. He teaches them how to see the fantastic in the ordinary, how a simple box could be a rocket to the moon, or a paper plate could be a warrior's mighty shield. For over 50 years, Frontier Camp has been dedicated to making disciples of Jesus by sharing God’s Word amidst the beauty of His creation. Since our founding in 1969, we’ve been licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services and are proudly accredited by the American Camping Association. We’re also a member of the Christian Camping and Conference Association. Our mission is to use Christian camping and outdoor recreation as a means to support local churches in fulfilling the Great Commission—evangelizing people of all ages and discipling believers toward deeper maturity in Christ. Frontier Camp offers a dual ministry: during the summer, we host a 10-week youth camp, and throughout the rest of the year, we serve as a retreat facility for churches and like-minded religious organizations. At Giving Tree, we understand how important it is for your child to receive the best education possible. That’s why our program is designed to provide children aged 36 months up to enrolment in kindergarten, who have been diagnosed with autism, with the support they need. Our program follows the “Best Practice for Children with Autism”, which means that we adhere to an Applied Behavior Analytic (ABA) approach. We offer two sessions daily; both are 3 hours long and provide a 2:1 ratio of teachers to students. At Giving Tree, we are dedicated to providing your child with the highest quality program, tailored to their individual needs. Our program follows the “Best Practice for Children with Autism”, which follows an Applied Behavior Analytic (ABA) approach. This allows us to provide your child with the support they need to reach their full potential. We offer two preschool sessions each day; both 3 hours long and with a teacher-student ratio of 2:1. This ensures that your child will be receiving the best possible education.
