Their leader is a whimsical character named Doodle McSpray, an old sea captain with a beard as wild as a porcupine’s dream and a hat decorated with glittering bottle caps. Doodle loves to tell stories about his adventures on the high seas, each one more wildly exaggerated than the last. Once, he claimed to have seen a rainbow-colored whale that spat out colorful water jets, which he used to paint his ship! But what Doodle loves most is inspiring the kids. He teaches them how to see the fantastic in the ordinary, how a simple box could be a rocket to the moon, or a paper plate could be a warrior's mighty shield. For over 50 years, Frontier Camp has been dedicated to making disciples of Jesus by sharing God’s Word amidst the beauty of His creation. Since our founding in 1969, we’ve been licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services and are proudly accredited by the American Camping Association. We’re also a member of the Christian Camping and Conference Association. Our mission is to use Christian camping and outdoor recreation as a means to support local churches in fulfilling the Great Commission—evangelizing people of all ages and discipling believers toward deeper maturity in Christ. Frontier Camp offers a dual ministry: during the summer, we host a 10-week youth camp, and throughout the rest of the year, we serve as a retreat facility for churches and like-minded religious organizations. Whether through summer camps or retreats, our goal remains the same: to expose people to Christ and encourage their spiritual growth through His Word and by reflecting His character in everything we do. While we provide top-notch recreation and exciting programming, the heart of our camp is the spiritual impact, rooted in the truth of God’s inerrant Word.

We also offer enrichment opportunities to the entire Brewster elementary school population throughout the school year. Dream Day on Cape Cod is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing respite for children with serious and/or life-threatening illnesses and their families. For the past 28 years, we have been helping families make special memories together at our Camp Nan-Ke-Rafe, located adjacent to Nickerson State Park. Eight sessions of family camp are offered every summer, providing families with the opportunity to relax and reconnect with one another without the stress of hospital visits and round-the-clock care. At Dream Day, our mission is to create positive, lasting memories that will help families transcend illness and struggle. We believe that every family deserves a break from the daily struggles of managing a serious illness, and our Dream Day team is committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment for these families.
