In the vibrant, jambalaya-cooking, jazz-playing state of Louisiana, or as the locals call it, "The Pelican State," a group of extraordinary kids embarked on a reel exciting adventure. They came from all corners of the state, from the bustling city of New Orleans, where the saxophones wailed, to the swampy bayous where alligators grinned toothy smiles. These were not your ordinary run-of-the-mill youngsters, oh no! These were the famous LA Filmmaking Wizards! Meet their leader, the quirky and exuberant Captain Cajun. With his oversized spectacles, multi-color suspenders, and a magical director's megaphone, he was quite a sight! His megaphone, or as he called it, his 'Spell-o-phone' could turn any idea into a blockbuster script. Just shout out 'action', and watch the magic unfold! These Filmmaking Wizards were an eclectic bunch. There was Gumbo Gary, a master in special effects who could summon a hurricane or a parade of jazz-playing elephants with a wave of his shrimp-shaped wand. Miss Mardi Gras was a costume genius, stitching up costumes that could turn anyone into a swamp monster or a twinkling star. Lastly, Bayou Benny, the quiet, shy one, was the wizard of sound. With his harmonica, he could capture the chirping of crickets in the bayou or the echo of a paddlewheel steamer. Together, they embarked on incredible journeys, turning their state's stories into magical films, filled with enchanting characters and unforeseen twists. LA was their canvas, and they painted it with imagination, laughter, and an undying love for filmmaking. So, next time you see a pelican fly across a silver screen, remember, it might just be the work of the LA Filmmaking Wizards!

Bring out your child’s inner artist with our year-round creative art workshops! Our unique program offers fun and engaging art classes for kids and teens in New Orleans and all over the world. During the summer, our camp schedule includes morning and afternoon classes, as well as exciting walking trips to Markey Park and Clouet Gardens. We also swim twice a week at Stalling Pool. With a small class size of 24 students, and a 1/6 student/teacher ratio, your child will benefit from individualized attention and instruction. All materials, field trips, and transportation are included in the tuition, as well as Friday Pizza Parties! At the end of each session, students will have the opportunity to showcase their work in a final presentation to family and friends.
