They were the super-duper cheerleading troupe of Kentucky, known as the Kooky Kix. Headed by a peculiar character, a crow named Cawley with a rainbow feather, they were a spectacle of joy, spirit, and endless energy. Cawley wasn't your regular crow; he wore a sparkling vest, sported a pair of neon sneakers, and always carried a megaphone. He was known for his odd habit of squawking "hip-hip-hooray" instead of the usual caw-caw, especially when he was excited. The kids in the Kooky Kix were as diverse as the wildflowers of Kentucky. They came from all the corners of the state, from the bustling city life of Louisville to the peaceful charm of the Appalachians. They put in all their heart and spirit to their cheerleading routines, flipping, tumbling, and dancing with the kind of enthusiasm that could make even a grumpy old tortoise tap his foot. Their cheerleading practices were nothing less than hilariously chaotic events. Frontier Camp offers a dual ministry: during the summer, we host a 10-week youth camp, and throughout the rest of the year, we serve as a retreat facility for churches and like-minded religious organizations.
