Once upon a time, in the melody-filled land of Illinois, there was a tribe of extraordinary children known as the Tune Titans. These weren't your average Illinoisian youngsters. Oh no, they had an extraordinary superpower - they could create enchanting music using various instruments, turning the state’s cornfields into concert halls and city streets into symphony arenas. 

The leader of the Tune Titans was a cool and imaginative character named Fiddlestick Fitz. With his wild hair, twinkling eyes, and a guitar that glittered in the sun, he was as funny as he was talented. He would often mix up the names of the instruments just for laughs, referring to his beloved guitar as the "stringy thingy" and calling the piano a "tinkle-ivory". And just when you thought it couldn't get any funnier, he'd don a pair of sunglasses and start strumming his guitar with a corn cob. 

In Illinois, from the bustling cityscape of Chicago to the serene riverside of the Mississippi, Fiddlestick Fitz and the Tune Titans staged impromptu performances, spreading joy and laughter through their musical jests. They tickled the ivories in Peoria, strummed banjos in Bloomington, and blew trumpets in Springfield, inspiring every child in the state to join their melodious escapades. 

The children of Illinois would often be seen lugging around instrument cases bigger than themselves, their eyes twinkling with the excitement of the next Tune Titans performance. Whether in the Windy City's towering skyscrapers or down in the flat prairielands, the air in Illinois was always filled with the sound of music and the resounding laughter of the Tune Titans.

What began in a humble New York City apartment with just a single student, Spark, has since blossomed into an enriching program impacting thousands of children. Our unique educational approach combines the elements of art, yoga, meditation, and nature to create a holistic learning environment. This distinctive blend is what sets Spark apart, allowing us to reach and inspire a multitude of children in truly meaningful ways.

With an array of offerings to accommodate various schedules and needs, Spark has something for everyone. Our services extend beyond the standard after school and weekend classes to include holiday and summer camps, birthday parties, portfolio preparation, private classes, and custom pods. We also welcome homeschool groups and are thrilled to announce the recent addition of a forest school program to our repertoire.

You can find Spark on-site in various schools and at our main studio located in the Upper West Side. But we're not stopping there - we're also planning to expand to the Upper East Side and Brooklyn. For our families in Pennsylvania, we run the program from our family studio there. And if you're not in close proximity to any of our locations, don't worry. We offer in-home instruction and virtual options to ensure that Spark can reach you, no matter where you are. The Park District has designed a variety of programs where children are encouraged to learn, grow, and interact with other children their own age. The Park District and Park Foundation are collaborating to ensure that all park district residents have access to the recreational programs. To this end, assistance is provided to those facing financial hardship. This program is available to all who live in the park district boundaries and are in need of assistance. Individuals who have special medical, physical, psychological, and/or emotional needs or receive special services from the school district are also encouraged to reach out to the Park District. The staff at Lincolnway Special Recreation Association will work with the Park District to provide reasonable accommodations to participants with disabilities. Participants who would like to request inclusion services are asked to complete the appropriate forms provided by the Park District.

The Crystal Lake Park District is a unit of local government that is responsible for providing park and recreation services for the community. This independent district accounts for approximately 5% of a resident's property tax bill and serves over 55,000 people. With 42 parks spanning over 1,400 acres, the Park District offers families a variety of ways to enjoy the outdoors. The Nature Center, Main and West Beaches, Colonel Palmer House, Lippold Family Golf Center, Boncosky Softball Complex at Lippold Park, Grand Oaks Recreation/Active Adult Center, the Racket Club, Barlina House Preschool, and numerous picnic shelters are all part of the Crystal Lake Park District system. In addition, the district maintains miles of bike and hiking trails that can be enjoyed year-round. 

The Crystal Lake Park District is committed to providing its residents with an array of activities and opportunities to stay active and engaged. The district publishes three seasonal brochures filled with programs and special events designed for people of all ages. From swimming at the Main and West Beaches to playing a round of golf at the Lippold Family Golf Center, there’s something for everyone. Whether you’re looking for a leisurely walk along the trails or an adventure at the Nature Center, the Crystal Lake Park District is the perfect spot for family fun.

Its mission was and still is to provide the very best parks and recreation experiences to the community while being safe and fiscally responsible. Today, the Lemont Park District continues to carry out this mission, providing the community with safe and enjoyable outdoor experiences.

The Chicago Academy for the Arts is an independent high school for performing and visual arts that has earned national recognition. Designated a National School of Distinction by the John F. Kennedy Center, the Academy provides students with a unique blend of college-prep academics and professional-level arts training.

The Academy’s daily schedule features three blocks of academic classes and a flex period, followed by a three-plus hour immersion in the student’s chosen arts department. Dance, Media Arts, Music, Musical Theatre, Theatre, and Visual Arts are all offered, giving students the opportunity to learn the skills necessary for academic success, critical thought, and creative expression.

In 1957, Jim Clarkson founded the Northfield Park District with a mission to meet the recreational needs of the community. Mr. Clarkson, who was also teaching Physical Education at Sunset Ridge School, began his park district work as a part-time proposition. 

Today, the Park District continues to serve the residents of Northfield, supervising the usage and maintenance of park resources and providing a variety of facilities, programs, and activities. Whether it's a game of pickup basketball or a nature walk in the woods, the Park District is dedicated to helping residents of all ages make the most of their leisure time.
