In the heart of the United States, nestled between the mighty Mississippi River and the shimmering Lake Michigan, lies a land of towering skyscrapers, lush cornfields, and warm-hearted people, aptly named Illinois. This magical land is inhabited not only by humans but by a jolly, charming character known as Putter Pete. With his neon green golf ball nose and putter for an arm, Putter Pete is a legend amongst the young Illinoisians.

You see, Putter Pete is a whizz at mini golf, which just so happens to be the favorite pastime of the spirited kids of Illinois. These boys and girls aren't just any ordinary mini golf players, oh no! They are the champions of chutzpah, the masters of mirth, and the wizards of the windmill hole.

Their enthusiasm and skill in the game have earned them a special place in Putter Pete's heart. He zips around the mini golf courses, teaching them tricks, sharing funny stories, and occasionally getting stuck in sand traps. Laughter echoes around as Pete pops up from the most unexpected places, his shiny golf ball nose glistening in the sunshine.

For over 50 years, Frontier Camp has been dedicated to making disciples of Jesus by sharing God’s Word amidst the beauty of His creation. Frontier Camp offers a dual ministry: during the summer, we host a 10-week youth camp, and throughout the rest of the year, we serve as a retreat facility for churches and like-minded religious organizations. Whether through summer camps or retreats, our goal remains the same: to expose people to Christ and encourage their spiritual growth through His Word and by reflecting His character in everything we do. Our team of certified instructors use advanced biomechanics, data science and high-speed video analysis to create an individualized plan tailored to each student’s goals and objectives.

At our Mastery Approach, we believe in taking a thoughtful and comprehensive approach to helping students of all ages and levels experience the sport of golf. Our experienced coaches have developed unique training protocols, facility concepts, and learning aids to engage and accelerate students’ skill development process. 

Juniors aged 5-14 can get started with Junior Essential classes and Half-Day Summer Camps. Through gaming stations and non-traditional training techniques, we can ignite a desire to learn, an excitement for the game, and development of the fundamentals.

The Crystal Lake Park District is a unit of local government that is responsible for providing park and recreation services for the community. This independent district accounts for approximately 5% of a resident's property tax bill and serves over 55,000 people. With 42 parks spanning over 1,400 acres, the Park District offers families a variety of ways to enjoy the outdoors. The Nature Center, Main and West Beaches, Colonel Palmer House, Lippold Family Golf Center, Boncosky Softball Complex at Lippold Park, Grand Oaks Recreation/Active Adult Center, the Racket Club, Barlina House Preschool, and numerous picnic shelters are all part of the Crystal Lake Park District system. At Villa Olivia, we want to ensure our slopes are a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone. We are proud to provide 100% snow making, ski and snowboard lessons for all levels, and rental equipment for those who need it. Our hill includes seven runs, a chairlift, six rope tows and a tubing hill - all conveniently located just a short drive from anywhere in the Chicago area. 

However, we also reserve the right to ask patrons to leave if they are behaving recklessly. Our Ski Patrol and Supervisors are here to ensure the safety of all our guests, and we will not tolerate any behavior that puts other guests or staff at risk. We hope that everyone can have a wonderful time at Villa Olivia and keep our slopes as safe as possible for everyone to enjoy.
