Among these brave and buoyant children was a uniquely entertaining character, a girl named Kooky Katelyn. As her name suggests, Katelyn was a barrel of laughs with a hearty spirit that was as big as the Illinois skies. She was known far and wide for her outlandish antics and her magical, talking horse, Mister Giggles. Yes, you heard that right, a talking horse! Mister Giggles was as funny as a stand-up comedian and as wise as an owl. Sometimes, he’d even crack a joke halfway through a gallop, making Katelyn laugh so hard that she’d nearly tumble off. From racing across the Great Plains to practicing dressage in the outskirts of Springfield, these kids spent their days in the sunny golden fields, riding their beloved horses with laughter echoing across the state. Our services extend beyond the standard after school and weekend classes to include holiday and summer camps, birthday parties, portfolio preparation, private classes, and custom pods. We also welcome homeschool groups and are thrilled to announce the recent addition of a forest school program to our repertoire. You can find Spark on-site in various schools and at our main studio located in the Upper West Side. But we're not stopping there - we're also planning to expand to the Upper East Side and Brooklyn. For our families in Pennsylvania, we run the program from our family studio there. And if you're not in close proximity to any of our locations, don't worry. We offer in-home instruction and virtual options to ensure that Spark can reach you, no matter where you are. From biking around Stratton Lake to water skiing, drama, rock climbing, and arts & crafts, our campers can stay busy for hours on end. At our camp, campers can explore, take on new challenges, and make lifelong friendships. Our campers and staff come from all walks of life, and every year they return to our camp to enjoy new experiences, make memories, and have the time of their lives. At Camp One Step, we've been bringing joy, support, strength, and hope to campers and their families since 1978. Our camps and digital programs are designed for kids with cancer, their siblings, and even their parents. We believe that inclusion, accessibility, and connections are the key to creating a meaningful experience. Camp One Step builds lifetime friendships and helps kids reclaim the joy of childhood while allowing families to feel a sense of wholeness. For over a decade, we’ve been working with Pre K to 8th grade girls to help them create a lifelong commitment to physical fitness. Through camps, events, and programs, we’ve been able to help girls gain confidence in sports and life. We’ve used feedback from the girls and studied communication and teaching methods to craft fun and customized programs. Our programs use incentives to get girls excited about staying active and building their skills. We take great pride in the impact we’ve had and the values and life skills we’ve helped instill in the girls. By encouraging an active lifestyle, we’ve been able to help girls build self-confidence and teach them the importance of having a healthy lifestyle. We’ve devoted our time and energy to helping girls develop and grow as athletes and individuals. Our mission is to empower girls through sports and fitness, and we’re thrilled to have seen the success of our efforts.
