Once upon a time, in the charming state of Georgia, where the peaches taste sweeter than a baby’s giggle, and the sun shines as bright as a million sparklers, lived a quirky and colorful character named Bobblehead Billy. Billy wasn’t your ordinary resident. No sirree! He was as tall as a giraffe on stilts, with ears as big as elephant ears and a bobblehead that wobbled every time he laughed, which was almost all the time. Billy loved nothing more than painting. And the kids of Georgia, they were just as smitten with painting as Billy was. From Savannah to Atlanta, from sunrise to sunset, you could hear the swish-swash of their brushes creating magical stories on canvas. Imagine this - a bustling army of pint-sized Picassos, and Van Goghs, giggling and dabbing their brushes, their tiny fingers smeared with every color imaginable. Some kids painted rainbows that could rival the real ones. Some painted peaches so lively you could almost smell them. There were fields of cotton, bustling cityscapes, and even nigiri rolls from the local sushi joint. But the most hilarious of all was Lulu, the tiniest of these kiddie artists, who insisted on painting her older brother, Larry, as a purple polka-dotted hippo wearing a tutu! Oh, how they laughed and laughed at that, their laughter ringing through the air like tinkling bells. As for Bobblehead Billy, he was always there, his head bobbling with glee, as he cheered on these little da Vincis, encouraging their imagination to fly farther than the red-tailed hawks of Georgia. Truly, in the peachy sweet state of Georgia, every child was an artist, and every day was a colorful adventure.

For over 50 years, Frontier Camp has been dedicated to making disciples of Jesus by sharing God’s Word amidst the beauty of His creation. Since our founding in 1969, we’ve been licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services and are proudly accredited by the American Camping Association. We’re also a member of the Christian Camping and Conference Association. Our mission is to use Christian camping and outdoor recreation as a means to support local churches in fulfilling the Great Commission—evangelizing people of all ages and discipling believers toward deeper maturity in Christ. Frontier Camp offers a dual ministry: during the summer, we host a 10-week youth camp, and throughout the rest of the year, we serve as a retreat facility for churches and like-minded religious organizations. Whether through summer camps or retreats, our goal remains the same: to expose people to Christ and encourage their spiritual growth through His Word and by reflecting His character in everything we do. While we provide top-notch recreation and exciting programming, the heart of our camp is the spiritual impact, rooted in the truth of God’s inerrant Word.

The Board of Directors of the Georgia Lions Camp have a clear mission: to give a unique recreational experience to the visually impaired of Georgia and the surrounding states. This mission was entrusted to them by the State of Georgia in 1975, when they were granted use of the property in Waycross. The Board of Directors have taken this mission seriously and use the property for the benefit of the visually impaired community. At other times of the year, the Georgia Lions Camp's properties are used in a way that directly or indirectly serves the visually impaired and helps to support the primary mission of recreational opportunities. The Board of Directors of the Georgia Lions Camp work hard to ensure that the property entrusted to them is used to its fullest potential. Their mission is to provide a unique recreational experience to the visually impaired of Georgia and the surrounding states, which they do by using the property for other purposes that support their primary mission.
