Once upon a time, in the gloriously sunny and alligator-populated state of Florida, a group of extraordinary kids embarked on a mission full of colors, sounds, smells, and textures. This magical gathering was no ordinary gathering; it was called Sensory Play! These brave little adventurers were not average children. They were members of the Sensory Squad, led by their quirky imaginary friend, Captain Squishy. Captain Squishy, a wobbly gelatinous blob of fun sporting a pirate hat and a sunny smile, inspired the kids with his wacky jokes and endless supply of energy. "Squeeze the slime, mateys, but don’t let it stick to your booty!" he would bellow, his jelly belly jiggling with laughter. "Or else you’ll end up like me, the squishiest captain in all of Florida!" The children dove their hands into cool, squishy slime, squashed soft playdough, and crinkled crisp tissue paper. They built sandcastles taller than palm trees, popped a gazillion bubble wraps, and gently petted fluffy cotton balls. They listened to the crunch of dried leaves and the soft whispers of feathers. They sniffed fragrant flowers, zesty lemons, and even some stinky socks! Oh, how delightful it was! Each day was a festival of senses. The kids of Florida loved their Sensory Play time. Whether they were burying treasure like pirates in the sand or pretending to be famous chefs kneading pizza dough, every moment was filled with laughter and learning. And so, amid the beautiful beaches, thrilling theme parks, and with Captain Squishy by their side, the Sensory Squad kids of Florida continued their enchanting journey, exploring the magical world of senses. One squish, sniff, and giggle at a time!

What began in a humble New York City apartment with just a single student, Spark, has since blossomed into an enriching program impacting thousands of children. Our unique educational approach combines the elements of art, yoga, meditation, and nature to create a holistic learning environment. With an array of offerings to accommodate various schedules and needs, Spark has something for everyone. Our services extend beyond the standard after school and weekend classes to include holiday and summer camps, birthday parties, portfolio preparation, private classes, and custom pods. We also welcome homeschool groups and are thrilled to announce the recent addition of a forest school program to our repertoire. You can find Spark on-site in various schools and at our main studio located in the Upper West Side. But we're not stopping there - we're also planning to expand to the Upper East Side and Brooklyn. For our families in Pennsylvania, we run the program from our family studio there. And if you're not in close proximity to any of our locations, don't worry. We offer in-home instruction and virtual options to ensure that Spark can reach you, no matter where you are. At Artcademy, Mrs. Susy brings her passion to life and helps kids discover their hidden talents. Through art, music, and Spanish classes, her “Mommy and Me” preschool, and Musical Theatre programs, she encourages creativity and builds confidence in children from all backgrounds. Mrs. Susy has been recognized for her efforts in promoting creativity and friendship through art, and she was recently awarded the title of Cultural Ambassador for El Museo Cultural Colombiano. She is also the host of her own YouTube channel, which features interviews and other videos about her work. Her mission is to inspire kids to explore the world around them and to use art to bring people together.
