Flexy, with his long, bendy neck and always-ready-to-dance posture, shows the kids how to stretch their wings. He teaches them to balance like him, standing on one leg amidst a pool of giggles and hoots. Together, they test their strength, improve their flexibility, and challenge their endurance. They hop like kangaroos, run like cheetahs, and swim like dolphins, all under the Florida sun and Flexy's watchful eyes. These kids, they are the superheroes of their own stories. They don't just do squats and lunges but embark on treasure hunts for golden mangoes, dodge the sneaky alligator snaps, or race against the speedy sea turtles. For over 50 years, Frontier Camp has been dedicated to making disciples of Jesus by sharing God’s Word amidst the beauty of His creation. Since our founding in 1969, we’ve been licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services and are proudly accredited by the American Camping Association. We’re also a member of the Christian Camping and Conference Association. Our mission is to use Christian camping and outdoor recreation as a means to support local churches in fulfilling the Great Commission—evangelizing people of all ages and discipling believers toward deeper maturity in Christ. Frontier Camp offers a dual ministry: during the summer, we host a 10-week youth camp, and throughout the rest of the year, we serve as a retreat facility for churches and like-minded religious organizations. Whether through summer camps or retreats, our goal remains the same: to expose people to Christ and encourage their spiritual growth through His Word and by reflecting His character in everything we do. While we provide top-notch recreation and exciting programming, the heart of our camp is the spiritual impact, rooted in the truth of God’s inerrant Word.
At our university, the Field House was recently completed in October 2015 as a total renovation of the Aquatic Center. The $5.1 million, 26,000 sq. ft. facility is located conveniently between the Student Wellness Complex and Arena on the north end of campus. The Field House provides an excellent space for our university's Intramural Sports program, where all indoor sports take place. It is also the hub for informal recreation such as basketball, volleyball, indoor soccer, badminton and pickleball. Students can take advantage of the Field House and its many recreational activities for hours of fun and enjoyment. Our university's Field House is a great resource for students and the community. It is a place for both competitive sports and recreational activities. With the completion of the renovation, the Field House has become a true asset to our university and a great addition to the campus.
