Once upon a time in the small but exciting state of Delaware, nicknamed the First State because it was the first to join the Union, there lived a group of super talented kids. These weren't just your run-of-the-mill kids, oh no! They were the Pint-sized Painters of Delaware, or the PPD for short. Delaware might be the second smallest state in America, but it was big on creativity, thanks to these kids and their fearless leader, a quirky, colorful character named Doodlebug Dan. Dan was a funny fellow from Wilmington, with hair as messy as a kindergarten art class and a laugh that sounded like a hiccuping hyena. He wore clothes with more colors than a rainbow and had a paintbrush behind his ear at all times. Some say, even his dreams were in technicolor. The PPD and Doodlebug Dan would gather every Saturday at the Dewey Beach, surrounded by the quiet whispers of the Atlantic Ocean and the warm, friendly faces of the Blue Hen Chicken, the state bird, pecking around. Dan would inspire the kids with tales of Delaware's famous peach blossoms and whispering winds. Then, with paintbrushes dancing on their canvases, the kids would bring to life the rolling landscapes, the historic landmarks, and the spectacular wildlife of Delaware, splashing their love for their home state in every stroke. There was laughter and colors everywhere, making Delaware the most vibrant state on the map. It was a sight as delightful and lively as a circus in full swing. With every painted scene, the PPD and Doodlebug Dan showed the world that although Delaware was small, it was mighty, just like their pint-sized painting prowess!

Nestled in 178 acres of lush woodland is a serene escape from the city, a place fondly known as Camp Swamp. This overnight Christian camp, located just two hours east of bustling Atlanta, has been serving as a peaceful retreat since 1992. We like to think of it as our own "little slice of heaven," offering a respite from the daily hustle and bustle, and inviting people to reconnect with nature and their spirituality. Our primary offering is a week-long summer camp, but we've expanded over the years to include more than just summer fun. As part of our mission to support families and churches, we now also host three family camps throughout the year, as well as four parent/child retreats. These events offer a chance for families to bond, parents to connect with their children, and individuals to grow in their faith. Moreover, our facilities are not exclusive to our organized events. Camp Swamp also offers rentals to schools, churches, universities, sports teams, and even business groups. Whether you're planning a camp, a retreat, or a team-building excursion, our serene setting and well-equipped facilities provide the ideal backdrop for an unforgettable experience.
