In the land of Connecticut, also known as the Nutmeg State, where the trees change colors as if by magic and the folks are as friendly as the sun is bright, there existed a group of kids with a fiery passion for a special sport: softball. Meet the "Connecticut Cheetahs," a softball team brimming with energy and enthusiasm as abundant as the apples in Connecticut's famous orchards. There's Sally, the pitcher, who could throw a ball faster than a cheetah chasing its breakfast. And don’t forget Timmy, the catcher, who could catch anything, even a pancake flung from the stove. There's Rudy, the shortstop, quick as a squirrel and always up to some mischief. Believe it or not, he once turned the umpire’s chair into a whoopee cushion! And then there's Bella, the first baseman, who could swing a bat better than a rock star swings his guitar. These Connecticut Cheetahs, with their matching uniforms of cobalt and silver, played softball with so much gusto that even the birds would stop chirping to watch! They loved to slide into bases, leaving their uniforms with stains of glory. Their laughter echoed through the state, spreading smiles as wide as the Connecticut River itself. Each game was nothing less than a carnival of fun, teamwork, and sportsmanship. And above all, the Connecticut Cheetahs were always up for a good chuckle. After all, what's a game without a good belly laugh, right? So, every time Rudy would miss a catch, he'd blame it on an imaginary character named "Giggles the Ghost" who, according to him, tickled his nose at just the wrong time. Now, whether Giggles was real or not, the Connecticut Cheetahs loved their softball, their home state, and their unforgettable laughs.

For over 50 years, Frontier Camp has been dedicated to making disciples of Jesus by sharing God’s Word amidst the beauty of His creation. Since our founding in 1969, we’ve been licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services and are proudly accredited by the American Camping Association. We’re also a member of the Christian Camping and Conference Association. Our mission is to use Christian camping and outdoor recreation as a means to support local churches in fulfilling the Great Commission—evangelizing people of all ages and discipling believers toward deeper maturity in Christ. Frontier Camp offers a dual ministry: during the summer, we host a 10-week youth camp, and throughout the rest of the year, we serve as a retreat facility for churches and like-minded religious organizations. Whether through summer camps or retreats, our goal remains the same: to expose people to Christ and encourage their spiritual growth through His Word and by reflecting His character in everything we do. While we provide top-notch recreation and exciting programming, the heart of our camp is the spiritual impact, rooted in the truth of God’s inerrant Word.
