In the sun-kissed state of California, where palm trees sway in the breeze and the Pacific Ocean sparkles under the sunlight, a group of adventure-loving kids craves the thrill of outdoor escapades. Known as the 'Nature Navigators,' they explore the jagged mountain peaks, the tranquil forest trails, and the mysterious depths of the sea, all under the guidance of their magical mentor, Captain Kookaburra.

Ah, Captain Kookaburra! He's not your regular guide. A bird with a surfer dude's spirit and the wisdom of a forest elder, he sports rainbow-colored feathers and a tail that transforms into a boogie board! With his hilarious jokes that make the squirrels chortle, and his tall tales that even the wise old owl finds amusing, he is the coolest bird in all of California.

These 'Nature Navigators' are no ordinary kids either. With their sun-kissed faces, sand-filled shoes, and hearts full of courage, they dive into every adventure with rambunctious enthusiasm. They are the ones who would high-five a grizzly bear in Yosemite, take a selfie with a sea lion on the beaches of Santa Monica or race against a roadrunner in the Mojave Desert.

Every day with the Nature Navigators and Captain Kookaburra is a whirlwind of laughter, learning, and leg-pulling. They may get mud on their clothes, but they also get stars in their eyes, learning to respect and protect the vibrant natural world around them. Because in California, it's not just about the golden sun or the crimson sunsets - it's about the golden-hearted kids whose laughter rings out over the rustling leaves, embodying the true spirit of this beautiful state.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Swift Nature Camp an overnight camp for boys and girls ages 6-15 located in the beautiful Northwoods of Wisconsin. 

 I’m Lonnie, the Camp Director, and I’m thrilled to share what makes SNC such a special place for kids and families alike. For nearly 30 years, our mission has been to create an environment where children can grow, discover, and make lifelong memories. Here at camp, we focus on friendship, personal development, and a deep connection to nature—all in a fun, supportive, and adventurous setting. All this without cell phones
One of the things that sets Swift Nature Camp apart is our focus on fostering independence and confidence. Whether it’s trying a new activity like canoeing, taking on a leadership role in a group project, or simply navigating life away from home, camp provides endless opportunities for personal growth. We celebrate each camper’s unique personality and encourage them to step outside their comfort zone in a safe and nurturing way. Seeing kids gain new skills and pride in their accomplishments is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.

For our youngest campers, Discovery Camp is an especially magical experience. Designed only for first-time campers ages 6-12, this shorter program gives kids a chance to experience the joys of camp life in a way that’s just right for them. It’s amazing to watch these kids try new things—from learning about the natural world to singing campfire songs—and leave camp with big smiles and even bigger stories to tell. Discovery Camp is often the beginning of a long and cherished relationship with SNC, and we’re so proud to see those first-time campers grow into confident and capable young people.

Another cornerstone of Swift Nature Camp is our connection to the environment. We believe that nature isn’t just a backdrop for camp; it’s a teacher, a playground, and a source of endless wonder. Through hands-on activities like pond studies, wildlife observation, and outdoor adventures, campers develop an appreciation for the natural world that stays with them long after camp ends. The Camp Zoo is always a favorite, campers can even adopt a pet while at camp.Our goal is to inspire kids to become curious, mindful stewards of the environment.

At Swift Nature Camp, there’s never a dull day! With hundreds of land and water activities, campers are always engaged and excited. On land, some favorites include the Lego Cabin, Arts & Crafts, Archery, and exploring the Nature Center. On the water, campers learn Canoeing, Fishing, and Swimming, but the absolute favorites are Tubing behind the boat and jumping off the Water Trampoline. Never is there a dull day because every day is packed with fun, adventure, and opportunities to try something new.
Of course, none of this would be possible without the amazing friendships that form here. SNC is a place where kids truly feel like they belong. Campers and counselors alike bring warmth, kindness, and enthusiasm to everything we do, creating a strong sense of community. Whether it’s cheering each other on during a game, collaborating on a creative project, or sharing laughs around the campfire, the bonds formed at Swift Nature Camp are something truly special.

Swift Nature Camp

Camp del Corazon is a beacon of hope for children living with heart disease, providing a medically supervised, residential summer camp experience free of charge for children ages 7-17. Since 1995, we have served approximately 300 children each year, and grown from a volunteer staff of two and a minimal budget to a thriving community of support and growth. Our camp on Catalina Island, 22 miles off the California coast, is dedicated to providing resources and services for these children and their families, who already incur incredible financial burdens from medical bills and often have to seek private or home schooling due to the numerous doctors' appointments and hospital stays. By supporting Camp del Corazon, we give these children the chance to experience the joy of summer camp and connect with other kids who understand what it's like to live with heart disease.

Jerry and Paula Baker founded Camp Tuolumne Trails in 2002, inspired by their own experiences caring for a son with a brain tumor. Their goal is to provide a safe and meaningful experience for all of their campers, especially those with disabilities. Tuolumne Trails is staffed by highly qualified year-round professionals and skilled seasonal employees and provides a supportive environment for healing, respite, education and recreation. The Bakers are dedicated to helping those with disabilities and those who support them, and are committed to making sure their campers have the best possible experience.

Tom Sawyer Camps has been a beloved tradition in the Pasadena area since 1926. Every summer, campers ages 3-14 from all over the area get to experience carefree outdoor activities in a rustic setting in the Hahamongna Watershed Park. The camp day is split between scheduled activities such as swimming, horseback riding, archery, and rock wall climbing, and free time where campers can explore and create in the wilderness. During free time, campers can build forts, create dams in the mud river, and complete imaginative challenges. All of these experiences provide campers with an opportunity to get back to nature, just like Tom Sawyer and Becky Thatcher did in the classic literature.

Camp provides a safe and secure environment for children to learn, grow, and have fun. Campers and staff are empowered to become leaders, to develop spiritual and personal growth, and to build lasting friendships. We provide an opportunity for campers to learn to navigate life’s challenges and serve the broader community. We believe that each person can have a positive influence on our world and to that end, we use the example of a young seminarian named Michael. His example of reaching out to others, helping them, and using the gifts and talents God gave him serves as an inspiration for campers and staff alike. 

At camp, campers are surrounded by nature and taught to respect the environment. Through our Nature Program, campers learn the Leave-No-Trace wilderness ethic and the names of local trees and plants. We ask campers and staff to respect all life and avoid the unnecessary picking of leaves or killing of bugs. Campers are encouraged to take this "Michael-like" spirit home with them, helping to make our world more loving and life-giving.

For over 60 years, Camp Pendola has been the summer home to the Diocese of Sacramento. In 1959, the land was lovingly donated in memory of Frank Pendola, Jr. as a place of respite and fun. Since then, the camp has been used to host school retreats, alumni events, and environmental education programs for Catholic schools in the Diocese.

With a 14,000 square foot facility that boasts both men’s and women’s Olympic equipment and plenty of training systems for each event, NEAG has everything your child needs to reach their goals.
