In the golden state of California, where the sun shines like a big round orange lollipop and the beaches sparkle like crystal sugar under your feet, there's a group of sprightly kids who are not just ordinary kids. They're the California Marathon Munchkins! Their leader is a cool imaginary character named Dash, a quick-witted kangaroo with a jetpack. Each day, Dash and the Marathon Munchkins lace up their magical shoes that make them as swift as roadrunners. They zip through the magical redwood forests, leaving a trail of stardust behind, and dash along the sun-kissed beaches, racing with the playful waves. You see, they’re not just running for fun; they're training for the biggest event of the year – the Golden Gate Marathon. Oh, what a sight it is when the Marathon Munchkins race! It's like watching a rainbow come alive, each munchkin in their bright colored gear, running with the spirit of a thousand cheetahs. And Dash? Well, Dash becomes a blur, a lightning bolt of fun who inspires the munchkins to enjoy their run. Their laughter rings out across the valleys and their cheering echoes off the mountains. And at the end of each marathon, they gather at their secret clubhouse (a magical treehouse shaped like a giant sneaker!) for a feast of energy-boosting snacks: plates piled high with pancakes, bowls brimming with fresh fruits, and glasses filled with sunshine smoothies. So, if you're ever in California, keep your eyes peeled. You might just catch a glimpse of Dash and the Marathon Munchkins, streaking across the landscape, spreading joy, laughter, and the spirit of running with every mile they conquer.

Founded in 2009, HKRS was created in response to the escalating rates of childhood obesity in America. Our founder developed a program that not only gets kids moving but also builds self-esteem. Through HKRS, children can learn valuable skills like goal setting, determination and confidence. Our primary goal is to instill a “Get Up and Go” attitude. We believe that this type of environment can help create a positive outlook on physical activity that will last a lifetime. HKRS is committed to making a positive impact on the lives of children across the nation. Our five-week series offers a fun, rewarding experience that can help set kids up for a healthy future. We are proud to be part of the fight against childhood obesity and hope that our program can continue to encourage kids to adopt a “Get Up and Go” attitude.
