Once upon a sunny time in the golden state of California, where palm trees sway gently in the ocean breeze and rollerblading sea lions are a common sight (okay, maybe not the rollerblading part), a group of adventurous kids prepared for an epic field trip. These were not your average, everyday, peanut butter and jelly sandwich-eating children, oh no! These were the Fearless Field Trippers of Frisco, the bravest bunch of explorers you ever did meet. Brave Billy, the group's leader, had hair as fiery as a Hollywood stunt explosion and a laugh that could make a grizzly bear chuckle. Then there was Clever Chloe, whose brain was as sharp as an eagle-eyed hawk. She could solve mysteries quicker than a cheetah chasing a gazelle. And don't forget Daring Danny, a kid who could climb any tree, even ones as tall as the mighty redwoods that towered over the state. Together, these curious kiddos crisscrossed California, from the dazzling Disneyland down south to the colossal Golden Gate Bridge up north. They explored the labyrinth of underground caves in the California Caverns, learned about the ancient Sequoia trees, and even dared to ask what exactly is in the La Brea tar pits. In California, every day was a new adventure for the Fearless Field Trippers of Frisco, and they couldn't wait to see what amazing discoveries were just around the next palm tree. So, grab your backpack and your sense of adventure, and come join these young explorers because in California, the field trip fun never stops!

For over 50 years, Frontier Camp has been dedicated to making disciples of Jesus by sharing God’s Word amidst the beauty of His creation. Since our founding in 1969, we’ve been licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services and are proudly accredited by the American Camping Association. We’re also a member of the Christian Camping and Conference Association. Our mission is to use Christian camping and outdoor recreation as a means to support local churches in fulfilling the Great Commission—evangelizing people of all ages and discipling believers toward deeper maturity in Christ. Frontier Camp offers a dual ministry: during the summer, we host a 10-week youth camp, and throughout the rest of the year, we serve as a retreat facility for churches and like-minded religious organizations. Whether through summer camps or retreats, our goal remains the same: to expose people to Christ and encourage their spiritual growth through His Word and by reflecting His character in everything we do. While we provide top-notch recreation and exciting programming, the heart of our camp is the spiritual impact, rooted in the truth of God’s inerrant Word.
The camp is located in the beautiful San Bernardino National Forest and is one of the first fully accessible camps in the United States. A special use permit granted by the San Bernardino National Forest allows us to operate and we are fully accredited by the American Camp Association. The name Camp Paivika was chosen by the campers themselves. In the language of the Cahuilla Native Americans, the word “paivika” (pronounced pi-vee-ka) means “dawn.” This reflects a new dawn of welcome, acceptance and inclusion and is a perfect name for this incredible camp. Camp Paivika is dedicated to providing unforgettable experiences for campers with mild to severe developmental and physical disabilities such as autism, ADHD, cerebral palsy, epilepsy and Down syndrome. Our highly trained and caring staff provide a safe, exciting and nurturing camp environment. We provide a wide range of activities tailored to the individual needs of each camper. From swimming in the lake, to arts and crafts, to star gazing, every camper can find something they love and enjoy doing.
