California, the golden state, where the sun shines brighter than a firefly's behind, and the waves dance like jiggly jellyfish on hot sand! Here, kids are not just kids; they're mini-explorers, tiny inventors, and pint-sized pioneers! They sport sunglasses so big, they could eclipse the moon and wear flip flops that flippity-flop louder than a seagull stealing a hotdog!

In the heart of this sunny paradise, there's a special gang of kids, known as the 'Mud Masters.' Oh, they're not what you're thinking — they don’t wrestle with hogs or play in the rain. No, they’re far more cultured, shaping and moulding the earth itself as they dive hands-first into the wonderfully messy world of pottery!

Under the watchful one-eyed gaze of their guide, Captain Claybeard, a jolly pirate with a beard as tough as baked clay, they squish, squelch, and squash their way to artistic glory. They create things so beautiful, you'd think they were whispered into their ears by the pottery pixies in their sleep. Their hands, covered in mud, look like five-legged octopuses having a field day. 

What’s that? You thought pottery was quiet and refined? Ha! Not with the Mud Masters. Amidst the whirl of the pottery wheel and the squelch of the clay, there’s more laughter here than a hyena’s comedy night. They make pots, plates, and even the occasional pirate parrot for Captain Claybeard. 

So, welcome to California, where the sun is hot, the surf is up, and you can mold your dreams, one hilarious, clay-splattered pottery class at a time.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Swift Nature Camp an overnight camp for boys and girls ages 6-15 located in the beautiful Northwoods of Wisconsin. 

 I’m Lonnie, the Camp Director, and I’m thrilled to share what makes SNC such a special place for kids and families alike. For nearly 30 years, our mission has been to create an environment where children can grow, discover, and make lifelong memories. Here at camp, we focus on friendship, personal development, and a deep connection to nature—all in a fun, supportive, and adventurous setting. All this without cell phones
One of the things that sets Swift Nature Camp apart is our focus on fostering independence and confidence. Whether it’s trying a new activity like canoeing, taking on a leadership role in a group project, or simply navigating life away from home, camp provides endless opportunities for personal growth. We celebrate each camper’s unique personality and encourage them to step outside their comfort zone in a safe and nurturing way. Seeing kids gain new skills and pride in their accomplishments is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.

For our youngest campers, Discovery Camp is an especially magical experience. Designed only for first-time campers ages 6-12, this shorter program gives kids a chance to experience the joys of camp life in a way that’s just right for them. It’s amazing to watch these kids try new things—from learning about the natural world to singing campfire songs—and leave camp with big smiles and even bigger stories to tell. Discovery Camp is often the beginning of a long and cherished relationship with SNC, and we’re so proud to see those first-time campers grow into confident and capable young people.

Another cornerstone of Swift Nature Camp is our connection to the environment. We believe that nature isn’t just a backdrop for camp; it’s a teacher, a playground, and a source of endless wonder. Through hands-on activities like pond studies, wildlife observation, and outdoor adventures, campers develop an appreciation for the natural world that stays with them long after camp ends. The Camp Zoo is always a favorite, campers can even adopt a pet while at camp.Our goal is to inspire kids to become curious, mindful stewards of the environment.

At Swift Nature Camp, there’s never a dull day! With hundreds of land and water activities, campers are always engaged and excited. On land, some favorites include the Lego Cabin, Arts & Crafts, Archery, and exploring the Nature Center. On the water, campers learn Canoeing, Fishing, and Swimming, but the absolute favorites are Tubing behind the boat and jumping off the Water Trampoline. Never is there a dull day because every day is packed with fun, adventure, and opportunities to try something new.
Of course, none of this would be possible without the amazing friendships that form here. SNC is a place where kids truly feel like they belong. Campers and counselors alike bring warmth, kindness, and enthusiasm to everything we do, creating a strong sense of community. Whether it’s cheering each other on during a game, collaborating on a creative project, or sharing laughs around the campfire, the bonds formed at Swift Nature Camp are something truly special.

Ceramic Heights is a pottery studio based in San Diego, CA. Muddy Time is our most popular class!  Never touched clay before? Or perhaps you’re looking to throw clay without the commitment.  No experience required and we will help you as much, or as little, as you like.

You’ll have an hour on the wheel and 2 balls of clay. The  first one is often for practice, as it can become so wet and mashed potatoes that it's barely usable.  If you make something amazing with the first one, awesome, we’ll put it aside and you can use the second ball to try to outdo the first pot, or get experimental.

Camp Mendocino is an outdoor education and environmental awareness program that has been offering this kind of experience since 1931. Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco provides positive role models on a 24-hour basis to ensure that campers are surrounded with love and encouragement to help them reach their goals. 

Camp Mendocino is a great way for kids to develop their character and leadership skills through creative and fun activities. This special camp has been providing kids ages seven to 17 with a supportive environment for almost 90 years. Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco staff members are dedicated to ensuring that campers are provided with the love and encouragement they need to reach their full potential. With positive role models available 24 hours a day, campers can feel safe and supported as they explore the outdoors and learn about environmental awareness. 

Camp Mendocino was established in 1931 by Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco to provide an enriching and supportive camping experience for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds. This unique program is focused on helping kids build their character and leadership skills in a creative and fun way. With the help of positive role models, kids are given the opportunity to explore the outdoors and learn about environmental awareness while being surrounded with love and encouragement. Campers are able to reach their full potential with the 24-hour love and guidance of the staff members.

Welcome to our fun and creative walk-in studio painting sessions! Whether you are looking for a unique experience for your family, friends, or a special occasion, our studio has something for everyone. We are now open for walk-in painting sessions, and if you have a group of 6 or more, you can make a reservation. Our studio hours are Tuesday-Saturday 11am-5pm and Sundays 12-5pm. 

Come and unleash your inner artist as you create a masterpiece that you can take home and proudly display. Our friendly and knowledgeable staff will provide you with all the materials you need to help you create a work of art. Plus, we have a variety of painting techniques and projects that are sure to spark your creativity.
