In the heartwrenching, snow-capped valleys of the mystical state of West Virginia, a land where the moon sometimes wears a hat of clouds, and rivers whisper secrets to the trees, a bunch of audacious, thrill-seeking kids partake in an exhilarating escapade - Skiing. They call themselves the “Snow Gliders,” and they are as unique as the colors of a rainbow and as vibrant as the fireworks on the Fourth of July. The leader of the pack is a ten-year-old dynamo, Billy "Snowball" Jenkins, with a heart as big as his snow boots and a laugh that could warm the frostiest winter morning. His red hair sticks out of his ski helmet like a flare in the snow, signalling his presence to all the mountain creatures. Snowball is a natural-born skier, almost as if he learned to ski before he could walk, and the mountains are his home. His best friend, Molly "Frostbite" Harper, is a fearless nine-year-old who skis like she was born with skis instead of feet. Molly, with her twinkling blue eyes and braided hair as black as the West Virginia coal, is the speed demon of the group, often leaving a trail of snow-dust in her wake. The third member of the Snow Gliders is the seven-year-old, Tommy "Icicle" Thompson, the youngest and the funniest. Tommy has a unique talent of making snowman while skiing, and his humor is as infectious as the common cold in winter. In the charmingly bewitched state of West Virginia, these kids embrace the thrilling snow slopes, making every winter an unforgettable adventure. The Snow Gliders, with their unquenchable spirit and love for skiing, are the heart and soul of the West Virginia mountains, proving that adventure and laughter indeed go downhill together.
