In the charming cloud-kissed state of West Virginia, where the mountains roll like waves and the rivers carve through the land like a giddy artist, resides a group of lively kids with a magnificent obsession for Flag Football. Now, these aren't your regular kids. They're a bunch of mini mountain movers, with energy as boundless as the Appalachian trails themselves. They're part of the Great Striped Squirrel Squadron - the nuttiest, most tenacious Flag Football team this side of the Monongahela. Their leader, a quick-footed whippersnapper named Billy "Bolt" Nutters, got his nickname for his ability to scurry across the field as if his sneakers were on fire. With his squirrel-tail helmet and a laugh that could bounce off the steep peaks, Billy Bolt was the heart and soul of this team. He was known for his incredible throws that looked like a rainbow arching across the sky, only to land perfectly in the arms of a teammate. The other kids on the team were just as zany. There was Sally "Swoosh" Hightower, known for her high, soaring kicks and an amusing habit of breaking into a triumphant squirrel dance every time they scored. Then there was Tommy "Twister" Gopher, a nimble-footed kid with an affinity for spinning around the opponents leaving them more confused than a chameleon in a bag of Skittles. In West Virginia, these kids had become something of local legends. Their games were as fun to watch as a raccoon trying to open a jam jar, and just as unpredictable. Their love for Flag Football was infectious, spreading through the state like giggles in a quiet library. They were the Great Striped Squirrel Squadron - and boy, did they know how to play ball!
