With a fencing foil in one hand, a block of cheese in the other, and a Green Bay Packers cap atop his wavy hair, Whisk is the embodiment of the spirit of Wisconsin. Every day, he leads his merry band of cheese-chomping, foil-flashing fencers on exciting adventures. They practice their parries and ripostes amidst the lush greenery of their beautiful state. Their fencing matches are fiercely competitive and unbelievably funny, often accompanied by a symphony of giggles and playful taunts. These bouts aren't just about winning or losing, but about fun, friendship, and learning the art of fencing. One day, you'll see them practicing their lunges on the shores of Lake Michigan, their foils glistening in the golden sunshine. On another, they'll be honing their footwork in the shadow of the towering Lambeau Field, cheered on by imaginary crowds. For over 50 years, Frontier Camp has been dedicated to making disciples of Jesus by sharing God’s Word amidst the beauty of His creation. Since our founding in 1969, we’ve been licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services and are proudly accredited by the American Camping Association. We’re also a member of the Christian Camping and Conference Association. Our mission is to use Christian camping and outdoor recreation as a means to support local churches in fulfilling the Great Commission—evangelizing people of all ages and discipling believers toward deeper maturity in Christ. Frontier Camp offers a dual ministry: during the summer, we host a 10-week youth camp, and throughout the rest of the year, we serve as a retreat facility for churches and like-minded religious organizations. Whether through summer camps or retreats, our goal remains the same: to expose people to Christ and encourage their spiritual growth through His Word and by reflecting His character in everything we do. While we provide top-notch recreation and exciting programming, the heart of our camp is the spiritual impact, rooted in the truth of God’s inerrant Word.
At Cracovia, we believe that fencing is a life-long recreation skill that offers relaxation, fellowship, enjoyment, and refreshment of the body, mind, and spirit. We are passionate about promoting the wonderful sport of foil fencing. We offer classes and summer programs for ages 9 and up so everyone can join in the fun. Our goal is to make fencing accessible to everyone, regardless of their experience level or gender. We have been providing fencing classes in Madison since 1997 and in Mount Horeb and Sun Prairie since 2003 and 2006 respectively. Everyone is welcome to come and give fencing a try!
