In the far northwest corner of the U.S.A., lies a magical place called Washington State, known commonly as WA. A land with emerald forests, snow-capped mountains and pixie-dusted coffee shops. But the most exciting spectacle in WA isn't the Space Needle or Mount Rainier. Nope! It’s the kids who play hockey! Meet Skippy the Skydiving Sasquatch. Skippy is a cool, imaginary character with a big heart and a bigger sense of adventure. He loves nothing more than watching the phenomenal young hockey players of WA. He often puts on his favorite flannel shirt, laces up his oversized boots, and heads down from his mountain home to cheer them on. The hockey-playing kids in WA are as diverse as the state itself. Some are as swift as the Columbia River, swooshing past their opponents with puck control that'd impress even the pros. Others are as sturdy as the Douglas Firs that dot the landscape, standing strong as goalies, blocking shots with a grin. And some kids are just starting out, teetering on their skates like baby deer, but determined as the salmon swimming upstream. Skippy loves the way the kids' laughter echoes across the rink, as loud as his own thunderous footsteps. He adores how they help each other up after a tumble, showcasing a camaraderie as deep as Lake Chelan. But most of all, Skippy admires their spirit, as fiery and vibrant as his favorite dish, spicy chili pepper donuts (don't knock it 'til you've tried it!). So kids, if you're ever in WA and hear a roar of laughter that shakes the ice, know that it's just Skippy, the Skydiving Sasquatch, relishing in the joy of the hockey game, and probably dropping donut crumbs.
