Once upon a time in the enchanting state of Virginia, famously known as the "Mother of Presidents," lived a flamboyant and slightly eccentric character named Doodle McWiggles. Now, Doodle wasn't your typical Virginian. He was a bubbly, bright, and absolutely hilarious art maestro with a paintbrush for a mustache and a palette for a hat. Every day, he'd merrily trot across the state's beautiful landscapes, from the Blue Ridge Mountains to the Chesapeake Bay, leaving a trail of vibrant colors behind him. The children in Virginia loved Doodle McWiggles! They were fascinated by his magical ability to turn anything into a canvas. From old barn doors in Virginia Beach to the leaves falling from trees in Richmond, everything became an art piece under Doodle's whimsical touch. Inspired by his creativity, the kids of Virginia eagerly joined in. With paint-splattered clothes and gleaming eyes, they dived into the joy of painting, creating masterpieces filled with shades of imagination. They painted the wild ponies of Assateague Island with streaks of silver and gold. They recreated the beautiful Dogwood flowers, Virginia's state flower, with shades of pink and green so realistic that you'd think they were plucked right out from a garden! And, of course, they depicted Doodle McWiggles in the most hilarious ways possible, complete with his paintbrush mustache and palette hat. In this magical state of Virginia, life was never dull or colorless. Every day was a carnival of creativity where children laughed, painted, and expressed their joy. Thanks to their beloved art maestro, Doodle McWiggles, painting was not just an activity but a way of life, a grand celebration of colors and imagination.

For over 50 years, Frontier Camp has been dedicated to making disciples of Jesus by sharing God’s Word amidst the beauty of His creation. Since our founding in 1969, we’ve been licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services and are proudly accredited by the American Camping Association. We’re also a member of the Christian Camping and Conference Association. Our mission is to use Christian camping and outdoor recreation as a means to support local churches in fulfilling the Great Commission—evangelizing people of all ages and discipling believers toward deeper maturity in Christ. Frontier Camp offers a dual ministry: during the summer, we host a 10-week youth camp, and throughout the rest of the year, we serve as a retreat facility for churches and like-minded religious organizations. Whether through summer camps or retreats, our goal remains the same: to expose people to Christ and encourage their spiritual growth through His Word and by reflecting His character in everything we do. While we provide top-notch recreation and exciting programming, the heart of our camp is the spiritual impact, rooted in the truth of God’s inerrant Word.
