Down in the Lone Star State of Texas, where the sunsets paint the sky with hues of orange and pink, there’s a team of youngsters who live and breathe baseball. They call themselves the "Texas Tumbleweeds," and boy, do they tumble! Led by their coach, Big Tex, a former baseball legend who is as tall as a cactus and as tough as a longhorn, but with a heart soft as a bluebonnet. The Tumbleweeds are a joyfully jumbled bunch. There's 'Dusty' Dawson, who always leaves a cloud of dust behind him when running bases. 'Home-run' Hannah, who can whack the ball right out of the park with her twinkling laughter. 'Quick' Quincy, who's as swift as a roadrunner, and don't you dare blink when 'Silent' Sally is on the pitch; her throws are as quiet as a hummingbird but as fast as a hound dog chasing a raccoon. In Texas, where everything is bigger, the passion these kiddos hold for baseball is no exception. They play with grit, determination, and a whole lot of laughter. Their shared love for the sport creates a bond as tight as a cowboy's lasso. And though they might hop around like tumbleweeds, they stand strong as a team like a herd of steadfast longhorns. These kids aren’t just playing baseball; they're living their Texan-sized dreams, under the vast sky and over the wide-open fields. So, if you ever find yourself in Texas, listen for the echo of their laughter, the crack of the bat, and the cheer of the crowd. Because, in Texas, baseball isn't just a game, it’s a wild, wonderful, Texas Tumbleweed rodeo!

Nestled in 178 acres of lush woodland is a serene escape from the city, a place fondly known as Camp Swamp. This overnight Christian camp, located just two hours east of bustling Atlanta, has been serving as a peaceful retreat since 1992. We like to think of it as our own "little slice of heaven," offering a respite from the daily hustle and bustle, and inviting people to reconnect with nature and their spirituality. Our primary offering is a week-long summer camp, but we've expanded over the years to include more than just summer fun. As part of our mission to support families and churches, we now also host three family camps throughout the year, as well as four parent/child retreats. These events offer a chance for families to bond, parents to connect with their children, and individuals to grow in their faith. Moreover, our facilities are not exclusive to our organized events. Camp Swamp also offers rentals to schools, churches, universities, sports teams, and even business groups. Whether you're planning a camp, a retreat, or a team-building excursion, our serene setting and well-equipped facilities provide the ideal backdrop for an unforgettable experience.

At URJ Greene Family Camp, camp magic isn't just for summer! We bring the joy, camaraderie, and enriching activities of camp into every day of the year. We've made it our mission to be a constant source of engaging Jewish experiences, broadcasting the best of our camp activities to our community, no matter the season. We're proud to say our programs, both summer and year-round, are firmly rooted in four core Jewish values. First, we emphasize Hineni - being an individual and understanding one's unique worth. Second, we promote Reut - the creation of meaningful, lasting relationships. We also value Kavod, meaning respect for peers and oneself. And, finally, we celebrate Am Yisrael, the community of Jewish people. These time-honored, universally embraced values provide the foundation for every event we organize. They're how we anchor our activities in the rich tapestry of Jewish tradition. By doing so, we aim to ensure that Judaism remains relevant, accessible, and meaningful for all our campers in the present day.
