Once upon a time, in the grand and mighty state of Texas, where cowboys roam, rodeos reign, and barbecue sauce is its own food group, a group of young, energetic kids were making quite a racket. No, they weren't wrangling cattle or chasing tumbleweeds. They were playing tennis! And their leader? A cool, imaginary character named Tenacious Tex, a tennis ball with a cowboy hat, boots, and an irresistible Texan charm. Tenacious Tex and his team, the Twirling Tennis Titans, love the game of tennis more than a longhorn loves a wide-open prairie. Each day, under the scorching Texas sun, they would rally and volley, serve and smash, twirl and twist, creating a delightful symphony of tennis sounds that echoed across the Great Plains. Their laughter was as infectious as a country line dance, and their energy was as boundless as the Texas sky. But it wasn't all fruit punch breaks and victory dances. Tennis in Texas can be tough, as tough as a cowboy's hide. The sun beats down like a blacksmith's hammer, and the wind can whip up a sandstorm in a split second. But under the twinkling guidance of Tenacious Tex, these young Texans learned to use these challenges as their secret weapons, turning the blistering heat into sizzling serves, and the whirlwind gusts into wicked backspin shots. These kids were more than players; they were tennis rangers, exploring the wild frontier of sportsmanship, fitness, and fun. They embraced the grit, the grind, and the glory of tennis, proving that in Texas, even in the world of sports, everything truly is bigger and better!

For over 50 years, Frontier Camp has been dedicated to making disciples of Jesus by sharing God’s Word amidst the beauty of His creation. Since our founding in 1969, we’ve been licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services and are proudly accredited by the American Camping Association. We’re also a member of the Christian Camping and Conference Association. Our mission is to use Christian camping and outdoor recreation as a means to support local churches in fulfilling the Great Commission—evangelizing people of all ages and discipling believers toward deeper maturity in Christ. Frontier Camp offers a dual ministry: during the summer, we host a 10-week youth camp, and throughout the rest of the year, we serve as a retreat facility for churches and like-minded religious organizations. Whether through summer camps or retreats, our goal remains the same: to expose people to Christ and encourage their spiritual growth through His Word and by reflecting His character in everything we do. While we provide top-notch recreation and exciting programming, the heart of our camp is the spiritual impact, rooted in the truth of God’s inerrant Word.
