Deep in the heart of the Lone Star State, where the sun is hotter than a chili pepper and the wind whistles tunes through the armadillo hills, there exists a group of kids known as the Texas Tumbleweeds. These aren't your ordinary, video-game playing, TV watching kids, oh no! These kids are renowned across the vast plains and rugged canyons of Texas for their extraordinary skill in a game known as Gaga Ball. Now, Gaga Ball isn't for the faint-hearted. It's as wild as a rodeo and as unpredictable as Texas weather. But the Texas Tumbleweeds, they've got it down to an art. They can dodge, dip and dive with the agility of a jackrabbit. Every day, as the sun sets and paints the Texas sky in shades of orange and purple, you'll find them huddled in the Gaga pit, their eyes gleaming with determination and a hint of mischief. Among these kids, there's a character as unique as Texas itself. His name is Dusty Boots, known for his cowboy hat that’s as big as a tumbleweed and boots that squeak louder than a prairie dog. Dusty Boots, despite his squeaky footwear, can sneak up on you faster than a hungry coyote on a field mouse. With a grin as wide as the Rio Grande and a laugh that echoes through the land, Dusty Boots is the undisputed king of Gaga Ball. So, if you ever find yourself travelling through the expansive Texas landscape, keep your eyes peeled for the Texas Tumbleweeds and their leader, Dusty Boots. You might just be lucky enough to catch a game of the wildest, most thrilling sport this side of the Mississippi, Gaga Ball. And folks, let me tell you, it's as Texas as it gets.

For over 50 years, Frontier Camp has been dedicated to making disciples of Jesus by sharing God’s Word amidst the beauty of His creation. Since our founding in 1969, we’ve been licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services and are proudly accredited by the American Camping Association. We’re also a member of the Christian Camping and Conference Association. Our mission is to use Christian camping and outdoor recreation as a means to support local churches in fulfilling the Great Commission—evangelizing people of all ages and discipling believers toward deeper maturity in Christ. Frontier Camp offers a dual ministry: during the summer, we host a 10-week youth camp, and throughout the rest of the year, we serve as a retreat facility for churches and like-minded religious organizations. Whether through summer camps or retreats, our goal remains the same: to expose people to Christ and encourage their spiritual growth through His Word and by reflecting His character in everything we do. While we provide top-notch recreation and exciting programming, the heart of our camp is the spiritual impact, rooted in the truth of God’s inerrant Word.
Summer camp is not just a vacation spot, it's a discovery zone where young explorers can enjoy the beauty of nature, take on exciting and unfamiliar recreational activities, and learn the value of independence away from their home comfort. Beyond these, summer camp also offers a platform for campers to learn the essential skills of teamwork, form new friendships, and engage in a variety of other fun and educational activities. When it comes to Girl Scout Camp, it's a blend of traditional camp activities and unique Girl Scout customs. Campers here have the opportunity to engage in an array of classic activities such as arts and crafts, archery, swimming, and cozying up around campfires. In addition to these, the camp also upholds Girl Scout traditions, allowing campers to immerse themselves in fun camp songs and games that are exclusive to Girl Scouts. Regardless of whether campers choose to attend camp on a daily basis or decide to spend an entire week away from home, they are provided with opportunities to explore, establish connections, and take thoughtful actions on issues and matters that are significant to them. Summer camp is not just a place of fun, but a place where campers can broaden their horizons and make a difference.
