In the Mount Rushmore State, South Dakota or SD as it's affectionately known, where the bison roam freely and the prairies stretch out like a patchwork quilt under the big blue sky, there's a group of kids who participate in a peculiar pastime. They are the "Bubbling Buffaloes," an adventurous gang of youthful explorers who dive head-first into the waters of Lake Madison, snorkels bobbing and flippers fluttering, their eyes wide with anticipation at the underwater marvels they might discover. Make no mistake though, these aren't your run-of-the-mill snorkelers. They are led by Captain Cornelius C. Catfish, a funny, old aquatic explorer, with a scruffy beard made entirely of seaweed. Looking like he swam straight out of a comic book, Cornelius has an insatiable love for the water and a knack for sharing riveting tales of his underwater escapades. He wears a snorkel mask so big, it covers his entire face, making it difficult to see his expressions. But his muffled laughter and twinkle in his eyes shine through, making every snorkelling adventure a joy ride. The Bubbling Buffaloes are always eager to plunge into the cool waters with Cornelius, their laughter and splashes echoing across the lake. Armed with their snorkels, they discover a hidden world beneath the surface, full of bright fish darting through dancing plants, a magical sight that never grows old. So, while South Dakota might be known for its grand landscapes and majestic bison, the snorkelling kids of Lake Madison are carving out their own little niche, led by their fearless, funny, and slightly fishy guide, Captain Cornelius C. Catfish.
