Once upon a time, in the tiny but mighty state of Rhode Island, there was a fantastic group of kids known as the Capoeira Crew. Rhode Island, or "RI" as the locals call it, is a magical place with beautiful beaches, amazing seafood, and some of the coolest historical landmarks. But what makes Rhode Island really special is its unique blend of cultures, one of which is the amazing Brazilian art of Capoeira! The Capoeira Crew was made up of all sorts of kids, from the speedy Sullivan brothers to tiny Tessa with her gigantic glasses. But they all had one thing in common: they loved Capoeira! Capoeira is a blend of martial arts, dance, and music, and these kids were some of the best at it. Even though they were from RI, they could kick, flip, and dance as if they were in the heart of Brazil! Now, you might think that martial arts sounds serious, but the Capoeira Crew was anything but! They were led by their hilarious Capoeira master, a whimsical, imaginary character named Professor Peculiar. Professor Peculiar was a master of Capoeira, but also of jokes and pranks. He had a big, round belly that jiggled when he laughed, a laugh that could be heard all over Rhode Island. With his crazy curly hair and his constant jokes, he kept the Capoeira crew rolling on the floor with laughter, almost as much as they rolled on the floor during their Capoeira routine. So, in the tiny state of RI, these cool, funny kids practiced Capoeira. With the sound of Brazilian music in the air, the laughter of Professor Peculiar, and the sight of the Capoeira Crew flipping and dancing, Rhode Island was indeed a magical place!
