Chapter Seven: The Oregon Aikido Kids and the Belly Laughing Bigfoot Somewhere nestled in the evergreen wonder of the state of Oregon, a group of kids known as the Aikido Avengers spent their days tumbling, rolling, and learning the art of peace. Now, Oregon is a magical place, a land of towering Douglas firs and sparkling streams, where rain is as regular as clockwork and rainbows appear without a pot of gold in sight. Now these Oregon kids, they were as varied as the state's landscapes. Some as swift as the Whitewater River, while others as sturdy as Crater Lake. But each one of them had a daring spirit, a love for adventure, and a fascination with the ancient martial art of Aikido. Aikido, as they learned, was not about fighting. It was about peacefully resolving conflict, much like negotiating who gets the last cookie without starting World War III. And these kids, oh they loved it! They would tumble like the tumbleweeds in the high desert, roll like the ocean waves on the Pacific coast, and then spring back up with a twinkle in their eye and a grin on their face. And amidst their laughter and Aikido moves, a friendly figure lurked in the shadows, a hairy, humongous, but surprisingly shy creature, known to all as the Belly Laughing Bigfoot. He would chortle heartily at the kids' playful antics and often try mimicking their Aikido moves, resulting in some rather comical, not-so-graceful tumbles. The Oregon Aikido kids and the Belly Laughing Bigfoot became unlikely friends. Together, they turned the art of Aikido into a symphony of laughter and friendship under the camouflaging canopy of Oregon's lush greenery.
