New Mexico, or as our wacky, mustached penguin tour guide, Ping, likes to call it, "New Wacso!" This is a place that is a crazy quilt of deserts, mountains, caverns, and yes, even aliens! Ping, wearing his colorful sombrero and jingling silver spurs, loves to slide down the slopes of the snowy Sangre de Cristo Mountains on his belly, splish-splash in the Rio Grande while barking out a Mariachi tune, or play hide and seek in Carlsbad Caverns with the bats. But what Ping truly loves about New Wacso, are the kids who participate in the coolest activity around - Ping-Pong! With their fiery passion matching the state's famous chili peppers, these kids paddle it out in every corner of the state. From the bustling streets of Albuquerque, under the giant balloons during the Balloon Fiesta, to the tranquil sunsets of Taos, the ping-pong balls fly back and forth like mini UFOs in Roswell. These kids are as diverse as New Wacso itself. Some are as swift as the roadrunners, darting to reach every ball. Others are as steady as the ancient adobe houses, never missing a shot. And, there are those who play with the sly grin of a coyote, tricking their opponents with their cunning moves. And boy, are they funny! You’d find them with chili pepper shaped paddles, or playing while balancing a plate of enchiladas on their heads! Ping loves watching them and sometimes joins in the fun, known for his signature move – the belly-bounce! So, come join Ping in New Wacso, where the sun always shines, the chili is always hot, and the ping-pong never stops!
