Welcome to the splendid state of New Jersey, also known as the "Garden State"! Imagine a place where you can find the beautiful sandy beaches of the Jersey Shore, the towering skyscrapers of Newark, and fields of towering sunflowers that stretch as far as the eye can see. Squeezed into this tiny, yet spectacular corner of America, there's a special group of kids with a superpower - they are the Karate Kids of New Jersey!

Their leader is a feisty, freckled 10-year-old named Jazzy Jersey (yes, Jersey is his last name, cool right?). Jazzy's got a black belt in karate and a heart full of Garden State pride. He can chop a board in half with just his little finger and his side-splitting jokes are legendary across the state.

These Karate Kids don't just toss around punches and kicks like they're on sale at the local grocery store. Oh no! They balance their rigorous training with epic pizza parties, epic beach days, and yes, even epic gardening (because they are from the Garden State after all!). They have a knack for turning every karate lesson into a comedy show. Let's just say their karate instructor, Mr. Chop Chop, has learned the hard way that sometimes a laugh can pack a harder punch than a karate chop.

In New Jersey, the kids are tougher than the turnpike, funnier than a comedy club, and cooler than a Jersey freeze pop on a hot summer day. Between the karate and the laughter, these kids are learning to be kind, brave, and just a little bit silly. So, if you hear the sound of chopping wood followed by a roar of laughter, you've probably just stumbled upon the Karate Kids of New Jersey!

Welcome to Rising Star Gymnastics! Our 22,000 sq. ft. facility offers something for everyone, from competitive teams to after-school programs. Our gymnastics classes include not only the traditional disciplines of gymnastics, rhythmics, acrobatics, and trampoline, but also the Xcel program.

Rising Stars Gymnastics Academy

Shukokai karate is a traditional Japanese martial art based on Shito Ryu (one of the first styles of karate) and refined by its founder, Soke Shigeru Kimura, 10th Dan. The style is defined by a one hit, one kill (or one meeting, one chance) striking power and embodies the values of discipline, focus, respect, patience, temperance, self-esteem, and creativity.

Students at the dojo (school) learn about technique, fighting, and the use of timing and character building on the path toward achieving their black belt. Classes are taught by Sensei Justin DeSalvo (5th Dan), Sempai Lynn DeSalvo (3rd Dan), Sempai Chris Lynch (3rd Dan), and various instructors.

Essex Shukokai Karate is affiliated with the American Shukokai Karate Union (ASKU), the national governing body of dojos teaching Kimura Shukokai, as well as Kimura Shukokai International, the world governing body, which represents over 20 member countries practicing this style of karate.

Head Over Heels Gymnastics has two locations in Central New Jersey, Parlin and Middletown, where kids of all ages can take part in a variety of classes that are tailored to their interests. Starting from 18-months old, our youngest gym-goers are offered preschool gymnastics, recreational gymnastics, trampoline classes, tumbling classes, cheerleading, karate, Ninja Zone, and Summer fun and fitness day program.
